This is reminding me of the early 2010s Rockets seasons before Harden when everyone was hoping Morey would make some crazy trade to land a superstar but all that happened was the team stood pat lol
Yeah but the difference is this team has a superstar and an all-star and their superstar is 37. They are full on win now mode.
Bald b*stard’s deadline deals 20-21: Traded P.J. Tucker, Rodions Kurucs, 1st & 2nd round picks for D.J. Augustin, D.J. Wilson & two 1st round picks; Traded Victor Oladipo for Avery Bradley & Kelly Olynyk 21-22: Traded Daniel Theis for Bruno Fernando, Enes Freedom & Dennis Schroder 22-23: Traded Eric Gordon for John Wall & 1st round pick swap; Traded Bruno Fernando & Garrison Mathews for Justin Holiday, Frank Kaminsky & two 2nd round picks 23-24: Traded Oladipo & three 2nd round picks for Steven Adams 24-25: Traded Alpha Kaba for Cody Zeller; Traded 2nd round pick for Jaden Springer & two 2nd round picks
You dont successfully rebuild a franchise from scratch in 3-4 years with all luck. You clearly haven't checked any other GMs credentials before
Don't buy it. Not unless they are pretty confident that FVV will be back for the playoffs. The guards simply aren't good enough and they know it. They didn't sell out the rebuild to acquire 37 year old Kevin Durant not to go all in to win now. They have to improve the roster if they are serious, and if they aren't serious they were stupid to get Durant.
I hope not, Rockets need PG and a shooter. Also need to get off of salary to be players in the buyout market.
Only hit on 2 first round picks during the rebuild (Sengun and Amen) Jalen Green gone Jabari is a bust at 3 Tari is a decent role player Cam Whitmore will be out the league Josh Christopher out the league Garuba out the league Ty Ty Washington is G League for life KD is saving the season for us and saving Stone & Ime jobs...
They didn't sell out the rebuild at all really. Giving up one meh first round pick and one disappointing young guy to upgrade one of the forward positions from Dillon to KD is kind of a bet-hedging move. They may be fine with potentially punting this season since FVV and Steven went down. It's always going to be hard to win it all when two key rotation players are out for the playoffs. So, I could believe they might stand pat. But I doubt any final decisions have been made and I'm sure they're still working the phones.
if this organization is betting on FVV coming back before the playoffs and having any sort of impact, just pack it up now When’s the last time you saw a dude miss 90% of the regular season then be helpful in the playoffs? this FO gotta be trolling the fans on purpose if they stand pat
OKC last rebuild - Clearly better than Stone's Miami last rebuild - Didn't even need to tank after Bosh/Wade/LeBron left. Made finals with Butler/Bam core and no top-10 picks. Can't even call a rebuild they just chugged along Boston last rebuild - Also didn't need to tank and just retooled after the Big 3 trade Nuggets last rebuild - Clearly better than Stone's Knicks last rebuild - Better than Stone at this point even if the Jalen Brunson signing was suspect Dallas last rebuild - Clearly better than Stone's unless we make the finals Warriors last rebuild - Clearly better than Stone's Wolves last rebuild - 2 tanking seasons into two WCFs appearances. Better than Stone's unless we make two WCFs Bucks last rebuild - 3 losing seasons into Giannis era That's already 9 teams. And I'm not even including teams like the Lakers due to special circumstances, or Cleveland, Detroit, or Philly who have had similar success as the pace the Rockets are on right now. Stone at best league average to slightly above league average at this point
I hope we do something... nothing major... deal a couple 2nd rd picks and expiring contracts for at least a stopgap due to injuries... im not saying we 'mortgage our future' for the short-term - but a minor reinforcement or two would be nice...
We have DFS/Steven Adams contracts totaling $26M. Based on teams who are sellers, these are viable players we should consider trading for: Trey Murphy $25M Derozan $24M Malik Monk $18M Klay Thompson $16M Daniel Gafford $14M Coby White $12M Ayo Dosunmu $7M If the Rockets are willing to include Reed in any deals, its not far fetched for them to consider bringing Jalen Green back ($33M)
I hope this ain’t true This team needs help Point guard, another big and another vet who can score or shoot Stone can’t think the team as constructed is winning a chip
