As a "brother," I wish CJ the very best. He is apparently a fine young man. However, I do think the Texans should move on and let him "rehab" in a different environment. However, I do not think this is going to happen. Everything with the Texans is based on "personal" relationships. You have to be utterly "dog bad" for them to give up on you. He fit the description in the two playoff games, but is it enough for them to give up on him?
Anyone else thinks he kinda looks like Bryce Young in one of those after shots? Dreads, low fade, bald, whatever, I just want him to get to the point to where he has full command of the offense and can win from the pocket consistently. Hoping he can take a huge step forward this offseason.
Man.......the hate for CJ is wild Personally, I am over the "hate" I had for CJ after the two pathetic playoff games and am going into my offseason positivity. IMO we have 2 years to see if CJ is the "guy" and I hope he is because we have been in QB purgatory and it is not fun. For me, this offensive scheme will not bring out the best version of CJ who seems to do well when he is off script (hello Tank Dell) but it is what it is, the Texans want a game manager who gets rid of the ball quickly....I hate it, it's so vanilla. Fix the MF`ing O Line and give us a true #1 RB and let's see what happens...........I am rooting for 7 because he is our QB and my new motto is, "It is what it is", I am not going to drink the kool aid in training camp and the proof will be in the pudding..............one thing though, don't play him for a quarter the entire pre-season and expect him to be lights out in game one............this offense needs to play and gel in the pre-season, possibly more than any other team
its crazy how much everyone hates CJ now. CJ was playing his best when he was cussing with tank dell. I hope jesus understands.
CJ has never been a good off script QB, he doesn’t have the athleticism to consistently do it. He used to do well when the pocket broke down and was able to navigate the pocket or roll out and be able to set his feet to throw. His best is when he’s able to anticipate and make great ball placement from his reads within the pocket.
I think we should draft a QB. I want to see if our coaching staff can ruin the next QB faster than they ruined CJ.
It sho iz While we're on that... what was Caserio's thing of giving 2nd round draft pick Jayden Higgins a fully guaranteed contract like he's the next Andre Johnson? If he blows up, does that really stop him from getting a bigger payday by someone else? That's part of the "premature reward" thing I mentioned. I'm sure the Gen Z kids are ecstatic about that treatment, but the NFL is different
Why are you worried about this? Now all 2nd rd picks are going to get guaranteed money. Caserio was ahead of his time building good will with agents/players.
More so in women for obvious reasons, but suddenly cutting your hair off (dramatically shortening it), is often a sure sign of depression. The false thinking is that a new look is going to somehow magically change you, change your current life, and also how others perceive you. CJ might not want to openly admit it, but I believe he is feeling a lot of pressure now.
Yes, Higgins’ deal is fully guaranteed, but it’s still a rookie-scale contract with roughly $2–3M annual cap hits. Guarantees can become an issue with expensive veteran contracts, not rookie deals like this. He isn’t getting any extra money — the guarantee is simply how his money is protected. That’s not a premature “reward,” it’s a contract-structure choice.
If I recall correctly, you've been calling for GM's to be unattached Jeff Luhnow cutthroat So forget Caserio "good vibes", extract max value
Caserio gets good deals on his star level players. Singley/Collins/Petrie and ecen to an extent Hunter are all on good deals IMHO.
