Possible “issue” with not trading tari is he has already stated he wants to start. When Fred comes back next year, where would tari fit in starting? I could see tari possibly getting moved for a scoring guard.
I’m a huge Tari guy. Can’t imagine the team without Tari, but I’d feel a lot more confident if he was signed long term. For me, it would take Ayo with an extension agreement and a 1st round pick.
The Bulls can keep trying all they want, but unless they want to trade White or Dosunmu and a future first-round pick for Eason, it’s not happening. It also tells you that the Rockets plan on matching the offer Eason gets as a restricted free agent.
I love Tari but yeah...I don't think he's long for this team. I don't think we'll give him the money he wants or the role he wants, more power to him as well, can't hate a man for being ambitious...but I do think we should probably look to move him this season or offseason... Is Coby White the one you move him for...IDK...
Tari. Ayo is an unrestricted free agent this summer whereas the Rockets can match any offer Tari receives. The Bulls would have to add draft capital to Dosunmu to get Eason.
You start Eason at his natural small forward position and either trade Jabari Smith, Jr. or have him be your sixth man and backup power forward / stretch five. Durant needs to guard power forwards at this point in his career, and Eason is much better than Jabari at guarding wings.
Ayo Dosunmu is literally not good. Every single year he has been in the league his (bad) team is worse with him on than off. His advanced metrics say he is one of the more negative rotation players in the NBA. No intel, but I am 100% sure the Rockets FO think Josh Okogie is better than Ayo. Tari is great. Flawed, but great. Tari has positive on/offs for good teams every year.
I wouldn't give up hope yet. Tari's been given the role he wants. He's a starter now. The question is the money which can still be negotiated in the summer. He's missed almost half the games this year in addition to all of the time in the past two seasons. Perhaps he'll have a desire for long-term security and will take a deal rather than the qualifying offer, considering the injury risk.
I hope we can get him. But I am afraid he might be a season rental. The good thing is that his price is in the gutter at the moment. Hope the Rockets aren't willing to trade Bari or Tari for him on those facts. Unless they are sure he is going to be the PG for the long haul and willing to give him a big deal this summer.
The Bulls have a weird front office man, I feel like they seem like a good trade partner every deadline then it never seems to happen We'll see, I guess
Rockets about to make no moves, lose in 6 in the 1st round, then in the offseason try to hype us on a team featuring 38 y/o KD and the return of FVV
I like Tari, but he’s extremely young to already have chronic leg injuries. Won’t get better with age & wear & tear…
