If we need a true pg, why not try to get Conley from the bulls for a SRP. He’s old and prob washed but he can dribble and is safe with the ball and Houston doesn’t have many guys that can do that.
Chicago needs to send us draft capital if we include either of those guys (lots of draft capital). Coby White is pretty much a more experienced Reed Sheppard with not as good a shot, but better creation and more consistent. Sending Tari or, especially Jabari, would be idiotic. This sounds like media spin.
The DFS signing has been such a catastrophe, but if we’re able to dump him for Coby White without surrendering any FRP’s I’ll be very impressed.
If Chicago wants JSJ or Tari they can kick rocks. I really don't want to give up a 1st round pick but DFS appears to be dead weight this year and a 1st to unload his salary next year and get someone useful like White is fair. EDIT: Not the Brooklyn pick swap or Dallas' pick, of course.
If it’s DFS in the trade it will take a FRP, no reason for Chicago to take on equal salary for 2nd round picks.
Chicago is just trying to play ball here. Eventually they'll settle for 2nds for either Coby or Ayo. It's over for these 2. Literally all the Bulls social posts I've seen over the last few days have been about Yuki Kawamura.
If we want to re-sign White during the offseason then it makes some sense to give up a first round pick to dump the DFS salary and make room. Depends on which pick it is though. Maybe a FRP + a SRP to push it over the line?
I don’t think you can use injury space in a trade and even if we get less salary coming back, we will still be hard capped at the first apron. I could be wrong, so maybe @Corrosion could chime in.
We need someone who doesn’t turn the damn ball over and white turns it over a lot. Houston can’t sustain leads because of those turnovers. Coby is gonna be a rental because we won’t be able to pay him what he’s looking for.
