I think he has a higher ceiling this year just because of experience, but Reed has the higher ceiling in future years.
No way Reed's getting traded for White. He either gets shipped out as piece in a deal for an All Star or stays here. I think you're right as to Adams or DFS. We DO have Bird rights, so ....yeah, a first with one of those two.
Oh yea. I agree. They’d be crazy to trade Reed for Coby. I was just saying Coby would be better than Reed on the Rockets this year.
Experience means he's likely already much closer to his ceiling. Reed has a 30-game sample that is likely better than or at least close to Coby's best 30-game sample. Reed also has the last 18 games which suck. I'd guess Reed's ceiling for this year is probably close to his best 30-game stretch (i.e., higher than Coby's ceiling), but last 18 games shows Reed has a low floor. If the Rockets get Coby for SRPs, I'll be happy, as they're adding a rotation player for little.
They paid Giddey, but don't want to pay Coby. They also have Matas, which is still part of their core. Outside of Patrick Williams, Bulls don't have too many long term bad contracts. Most of their guys have fairly short contracts. And what will they do with Ayo. If they flip Coby for a FRP or some SRP, great, but seems like they just want to stay flexible cap-wise. Do a big revamp, maybe in a couple years.
I find it odd Chicago is shopping White when they're a young team, he's young enough to fit the timeline, and the team has so little future salary committed. Vucevic is the only player on their team over 30 (35 years old) and is expiring, they should be shopping him heavily instead. Not like the rumored offers for White are setting the world on fire either.
I just saw that. But it still doesn't make sense to me. Won't pay White but they bring in Simons' expiring contract. Are they going to pay him? They're the same player.
Don’t forget Ivey too. Looks like both Bulls guards not named Giddy are probably gone. I like them both. Go get one Stone!
We never replaced Jalen at the 2 and our lead on-ball initiator (while an amazing player) can’t shoot. We are pinning our future hopes to a 6’2” guy who’s never really played the point guard position. If any team needs help in the backcourt it’s Houston. Get it done!
I would consider Reed for Coby if we're getting their FRP this year. Stacked draft class and they might still fall into the lotto Straight-up would be a "hell no"
