If Reed is injured, it's somewhat concerning. No excuse for his defense, but I wonder if there is something genetically wrong with his knees. He's had ice packs on his knees at the start of this season, when he started playing heavier minutes. Kind of reminded me of Matt Harpring. Seemed like everytime I saw that guy on Utah, he always had ice on his knees.
Courtside reporting from Clutchfans! Love it. Seriously, thanks. I wouldn't have known about the warmup misses if you hadn't told us. That's useful information. No defense, no pressure, and he's still off. Sounds like a physical problem.
If that’s the case will the all star break even fix it? He’s not playing heavy minutes and we’ve all been saying play him more and let him take the lumps to figure his defense out now. If he’s fatigued with 20 minutes a game how can we play him more?
Get a real pg, and Reed's game would flourish again. Reed is an undersized shooting guard in the NBA because he can't handle defensive pressure yet. When pressed hard, Reed can't even beat his own man with a drible.
i actually thought last night was one of his best games despite being an absolute brick from 3. The benching of the 4th was weird but maybe it's an injury problem.
It’s also bad leaking to the other team by making it Public , if they knew Durant is out snd Sheppard is useless with ongoing knee issues their entire defense would change At least Reed was drawing a lot of defender from seng
Wait a minute... so now folks are saying that Reed is 'fatigued'.... lmao! I thought that big meanie Ime was holding Reed back... just another plot perpetrated by Ime to keep the brother down... now ur saying that he's been given too many minutes and is fatigued? LMAO! mayn.... some of yall should be contortionists with your ability to twist reality to try to fit your narratives... lol!
I thought he played well other than the 3 pt shooting. Unfortunately, if that isn’t working the other bench options bring more to the table. Our defense won that game in the 4th. That’s why he didn’t play.
I think players just have to play through it, at least historically speaking. At the very least he should be getting consistent 20+ minutes each game going forward when healthy. Gotta build up that stamina going forward.
I can’t believe a kid that age in his second year is fatigued. It is much more likely that he is injured or suffering from confidence issues.
It's very normal for young players to be easier fatigued than older players in any sports. NBA plays 82 games of 48 minutes games compared to college of 30+, 40 minute games at a slower pace and a lot easier competition. They are also learning on the job, so they need to put in more effort compared to vets, who knows when to take plays off and when to go hard. Reed having trouble with fatigue isn't abnormal.
he did - I was just shocked at the warm ups before the second half - honestly other than against Nembhard he did decent offensively imo it was just a stark difference than what I had been used to previously. Even when I have seen warm ups in the background of some of the Rockets broadcasts in the past he was hitting better than last night - I know warm ups don’t matter but it was enough to give me pause.
First real season of playing consistent NBA minutes and he's an undersized guard... I'm sure he's a bit fatigued and banged up. Only thing I noticed was he was having trouble turning the corner when handling the ball last night.
I thought Reed's problem was that he wasn't shooting with confidence and passing on shots. Hesitation will make you miss. Now he's letting it fly with no hesitation which is great but he's shooting even worse. A lot of these shots are wide open too. He's gotta hit those, that's his #1 job.
Rookie wall is real. (I don't want to get into the argument of whether he is a rookie. The fact is, he played few minutes last season than he played in college.) Young players are not used to the NBA pace. I hope this is what it is and his body will eventually adjust toward the latter part of the season.
I don’t recall fatigue setting in on Amen or Jabari in their first or second year. Could it be that Reed just doesn’t have an NBA body? I think it may take another 2 years to put on the requisite muscle. Call me a hater if you want, but I think fatigue is just a worried fan base coming up with an excuse for a guy that just isn’t ready yet. Nothing wrong with that and we should keep trying to develop him rather than dumping him for peanuts. Might as well run him out their for 20+ minutes the rest of the year if we don’t make a trade.
