He’s already top 2 defensively. My prediction is he develops a solid mid-range shot by next year and back to 30% on corner 3’s. The next year he makes a leap in 3 pt % to league average. He does that he is top 5 without a doubt. Basketball is played on both sides of the court.
KD is just leagues above the next best on our team and it is not close. Amen and Sengun play well together when they play their position. Compare this year vs last. Night and day. Amen is a 3 with plus passing. A perfect fit on a Warriors squad. Oh wait, nvm, he can't shoot 3s though Let him be a hyperefficient Jimmy Buckets cutter. JBs in god mode in that role this season. This is where Amen can shine
Yeah, as I figured, you're not really grasping what a top 5 player is. Jokic, Shai, Giannis, Luka, Wemby...this is your current top 5 players crop. HOF players. Some of the best players the game has seen. All respect to Amen, but he hasn't shown anything remotely close to signify he has the ability to reach that level. He hasn't shown any real shooting ability to this point and yet you're just assuming two huge shooting leaps over the next two years. Sounds like fantasy land.
If Amen develops a shot he is SGA with better defense, better rebounding, better passing. The whole premise was him developing a shot. I think he will, you don’t. There is no use in arguing since neither of us is a prophet.
Please name ONE Superstar player whose shot was as broken as Amen - maybe Westbrook? But that is it, either you can shoot or you can't....Amen will never be more than a Shawn Marion because he is not a great shooter. Most ALL TIME NBA players can score and create for themselves and you see that early on, hell Reed is a better creator than Amen - and he is apprehensive. I really want AMEN to be the guy, but it is SHOCKING that he sucks at shooting so much, it has to be mental - because his form isn't bad and he works hard - but he is just not a great shooter. Thus, he either becomes Jason Kidd at the 3pt line, which would require a ton better on handles and shooting, or Shawn Marion occassional All star is where he will plateau. DD
Its so funny how people are preaching how great KD is yet the Suns look way better than they did last year and they have had the same or more injuries than we have and we look worse. We lost this trade. It was a dumb dumb trade if you trade Jalen Green and Dillion Brooks it should be for a young star or point guard which weve always needed.
With KD we lose to Indy tonight. Everyone touched the ball every one was involved and Alpi could be himself, we need KD to step back and let Alpi lead for this team to go as far as it can. DD
I am right and wrong just like everyone else, but here, I am right. KD is a problem as the ONLY focus and it hurts other players on the team and them finding their way, you don't go all in on a 37 year old. Now, I love KD - I just want him to be a guy at the end of the offensive possession not the beginning. DD PS. You are right about me having an agenda, and that AGENDA is for the Rockets to be the best team with this particular roster they can - and that means play the right way and use KD the right way......that is my only AGENDA -.....what is yours? Follow me around like a little lost puppy and bark at your master.... Bark puppy bark !!
Scottie Pippen could not shoot at all, when he came into the league. Broken shot form as well. He worked at it became a lock for all star and superstar. Hall of famer as well.
Yes, he got a lot better, for sure...good catch, it just seems pretty rare......that you either show you can shoot early or you just never become great at it. Jason Kidd was another one..... DD
I think Sure was. I think alot of Amen's mechanics are not matching up, when it comes to shooting. His shot is not releasing high enough. He needs to release it with more arch. Also he's fading most of the time. Watch how flat his shot is and watch where it hits. Most of the time it's hitting on the back of the rim or the backboard. More arch will change the trajectory of his shot. Im pretty sure he will work on it. Kind of hard to do during the season, but I think he felt embarrassed by that San Antonio game. He took accountability and that's all I can ever ask for from a person. He's the one and I totally believe that. He improved his free throw shooting and that's a good sign, that it can be done.
