Joe Biden put zero pressure on Garland to do anything allowing Trump and his co-conspirators to roam free the entire 4 years until it was too late after trying to throw an election…this after telling people Idk how many times that democracy was at stake

Garland is a massive failure, and Biden’s choice of him was a massive failure. That said, Joe Biden’s idea of democracy is to behave like a democratic leader. He can encourage the DOJ to focus on certain types of crime or public concerns, but the POTUS should not pressure the DOJ to target or shield specific investigations. Doing so would make him no different from what Trump is doing with the DOJ today.

If you are against Trump’s weaponization of the DOJ, you should also be against anyone else doing it. If you wanted Biden to weaponize the DOJ, then you have no principled basis to oppose Trump doing the same.

Yes, LOTS of norms that were once fully expected will now need to be codified. A government is only as good as the people willing to run it lawfully (faithfully). When you give them too much wiggle room, you assume they will behave normally. We have now seen that assumption is no longer prudent.

I don't think codified laws would have stopped this administration since they are breaking laws at record numbers.

I think we may need to just stack the court, overturn pardon powers, seize illegal profits from govt corruption, charge all corporate leaders who were in on bribing officials.

In other words, actually drain the swamp.

 

The latest batch is rocking Europe, with one Brit already being investigated for disclosing classified info and the Norwegian royal family coming under a lot of scrutiny.

Meanwhile, we got nothing going on here.

 

We need ways to get rid of corrupt judges, corrupt congressman and women, corrupt politicians etc.....we need a way for the PEOPLE to be represented and the power given back.

In some states you can have a referendum on leadership with enough signatures on a petition, we need that for Federal government too.

Also, we need a VOTING system that is secure, and has Significant oversight and transparency, we should all be voting from our phones.....national holiday for voting...term limits....bills be SINGLE issue.....lots to fix....to prop up the guard rails and fix them.

And we need to try trump for Treason, and all his enablers too.....and execute on their sentences.....for all to see that when you break the law, you do the punishment.

jorge is really going to mat for donnie in this thread. its very odd. hes got a pathological inability to recognize that trump was very much tied up with esptein, to a deeper level than any one else in the files. i have yet to see a liberal or democrat say that its only republicans. on the contrary, they all say anyone who did anything wrong should be held accountable, regardless of party affiliation. texxx/mojoman/jorge/conquistadork dont roll that way though. its very odd.
