Kawhi is the bigger snub, you could argue for Harden as well.......he was averaging close to 28 ppg (Leonard) and took the Clips to a Play In spot.

Sengun has more pts than Chet but:

    Chet shooting 56.6% and 3pt 36.6%
    Sengun shooting 50.0% and 3pt 30.0%

    Sengun just takes more shots.
I am totally okay that Chet is selected over Sengun.

I think they differentiate between World Player vs US Player now.

So they took Avdija and Jamal Murray over Sengün.

They took Chet over Kawhi and Harden for example.

Swap Sengun with Chet from the start of the season, and rockets could have won 5 more games.

It’s a slight snub but it’s a snub. Hopefully Alpy plays out of his mind the rest of the season ala Hakeem in the 95 Spurs playoff series.

Harden seems like the armpit of the NBA. The vibe from haters he gets is just ridiculous. Still have fond memories of him leading the Rockets; though he should have never requested to be traded away from Houston (but he thought he was on the verge of getting a ring with Durant and Kirie).

    Still a really good player!

I am ok too, just because OKC deserves 2 All-Stars and HOU doesnt. That's a factor.
LeBron is a big stretch, a second Laker is not warranted. But its a bit of Lifetime Achievement selection...

Sengun is a vastly superior passer, but Chet is an All-NBA level defensive player.

Chet isn't asked to do as much offensively, he gets a lot of open shots created for him by SGA.

The tiebreaker here is team record. Voters will always be more willing to give a second all-star to a team leading the league in W/L record.

I'll be honest... I don't think Sengun has been good enough to start the season to justify leaving off a legacy star like Lebron, or a future star MVP candidate on the best team in the league like Chet. The Thunder are breaching the historically great team category, and they do deserve two all star spots, and the Rockets have lost like 8 games to terrible teams.

Also... as much as I love Sengun... the dude is still really bad on defense.

Hopefully this gives Sengun some ammo to keep on improving.

It really is crazy how people just discount the defensive side of the ball when evaluating players. It is exactly why the Reed/Sengun minutes don't work.

Everyone is so caught up in PRA (points rebounds assists) totals and not looking at the underlying stuff on what makes players impactful to winning.
Fans just looking at the most reductive stuff.

    historically great? lol calm down.

I don't know why people continue with this BS.

At the beginning of the season they were going to break 70 wins.

The thunder are a product of an overal weak league (its competitive particularly inthe west, but prior great teams would pounce this)

Chet has taken leaps and bounds offensively, it does not show in the stats as he takes minimum shot attempts sometimes.

And mostly when the team needed him, he stepped up more than not. His shot release also got better, had his mechanics re-adjusted the 2nd time.

Ajay Michell took on the role of 2nd scorer alongside all the others.

Lebron is extremely popular with fans and players. He is going to make the all-star team no matter what, similar to how MJ made it in his Washington years. Harden was probably penalized by voters for the Clippers' early season struggles. They've completely turned it around now, but when voting was first opened up their record was still terrible.

The thing is Joker is really bad on Defense and he can avoid criticism bc of his vastly superior Offensive and shooting.

He is basically doing the Harden locking your arms with opponent part....

Maybe you are right but even if so I still don’t think Sengun has earned it hands down this season. I think he’ll get on as an injury reserve though which will feel appropriate. This team has a ways to go before anything is a given.

I was shocked and pissed Sengun didn't make the all star roster but after reading the comments I don't feel so bad. Rest is always good and hope Sengun uses the motivation. Thanks Clutchfans.

Got to agree with others, Sengun hasn't deserved it. He started the year off very very strong but has since slumped into just a good player. Just "Good" players shouldn't make all star teams. Bro's defense has looked rather weak, he can't finish a layup to save his life, three point looks like ass, and he can't jump over a phone book.

Not a sengun hater. He's still my favorite player on the team. Just recognizing he's not had the year I expected. He's still, what, 23? Being an allstar isn't about having talent. It's about consistently applying that talent. Jalen Green had allstar talent. But he didn't bring it every night. Sengun has been the same this year.
