Portland will not trade Deni since he’s one of the most dollar efficient player along with Jalen Johnson. Terms of talent I don’t know who’s better since Ime is pretty bad a brining out the best of his players.
2 years ago, the Sengunatics were overly delusional with their optimism... Now they're just outright delusional... And lying like politicians .. lol
So, my EYE TEST has been right all these years? Lol I have been vehemently saying the same thing for the past yr, Sengun is the same player since he's been drafted! And Reed is the same player he's been since college. CUT TIES
I believe in Sengun. Ime just destroys players offensive capabilities. Sengun got worse this year because they insist he starts at the 3 point line.
He didn’t deserve an allstar bid. And getting one would not have been in his best interest, frankly. He needs a good serving of humility, as evidenced by his idiotic “too small” stuff he did in the last Spurs game right before Wemby and Castle humiliated him. In today’s NBA, nobody who shoots like Manute Bol should be an allstar. When he matures to the point of making serious efforts to improve his shooting (rather than temporary efforts over a summer with video highlights for his fans), he may get an all star nod again someday.
Very glad Alperen didn't get the all-star nod, he has not played like himself since he first got injured. Now he will have time to rest and get both physically well and get himself mentally prepared for the rest of the season. Get it together Alpi and use this as motivation.
How does starting at the 3-point line explain his inability to shoot 3s, shoot open 10 footers, or shoot FTs? Has absolutely nothing to do with Ime and I’m fact another coach might have much less patience with him
What do you think you can get in return by trading them? If our fans are overvaluing them, that means they aren't as valuable as we think in the trade market. Not being Jokic or Curry doesn't mean they can't be good players. Why do you want to get rid of them just because they are not as good as the fans think? A lot of people here just want to trade all the players they don't like. Will you like the players you get in return?
All star selection has many factors. He still could have gotten in but recent bad performance and team record are two factors working against him. That’s why I mentioned standard player rankings. If you don’t think jumping 50 spots and being in top 20 is a definite sign of improvement, I don’t think there is any point in discussing specifics.
I feel Sengun is great, but utilized incorrectly. Our offense looks like sh#t when he gets the ball at the three point line or further. I like low post Alpi, and on rare occasion elbow Alpi.
I still believe in him, but he hasn’t been as consistent or efficient this year. I’m fine with him missing it. Come back better.
Kawhi is who Amen fans think Amen is Curry is who Reed fans think Reed is Jokic is who Sengun fans think Sengun is TMIII is who Jabari fans think Jabari is Kobe is who Jalen fans think Jalen is And Ime is holding all of them back! This is why there are no untouchables. But you also don’t rush to trade them for 31+yo who’s achilles is waiting to pop with 2-3 calf strains on the same leg in the last year. CF needs 7 years minimum to see if their drafted guys are any good. Meanwhile, just saw 19 year old last night. He any good? Gumby kid in San Antonio. He any good? Sand Castle. He any good? The Nipple in Charlotte. He any good? https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/player-development-a-star-in-two-years-or-you-are-a-bust.323169/ How long should it take for a player to fully develop? Should be evident in their 1st year 2 vote(s) 2.2% 2 years tops 5 vote(s) 5.4% *3 yrs - If not time to trade them 38 vote(s) 40.9% 4+ Years - They are a bust 23 vote(s) 24.7% It is more depended on the Team situation than the player 25 vote(s) 26.9% Also: It’s not about like or dislike or love or hate, it’s about “Are we/they good enough?” “Can this guy/these two guys be the best guy(s) on a championship team?” And if I don’t have that guy, I need to go find that guy. Because Morey was right, it’s still about stars. You can hope and romanticize about the 2000-whatever Pistons and the middle 2010s Hawks. “Ohh they didn’t have a star! Maybe it’ll work for us!” I can go back to the draft. (They do have some picks coming up, none this year) Or I can go the trade route. (Stars don’t really hit free agency anymore))
How do you go find that star by trading? Let's say none of our young guy is any good. How are you going to improve the team? You think other teams will line up to take your trash and give you their stars? Just crying about them not good enough is meaningless. If it's that easy, many more teams would be contending for championship.
Morey’s models found James Harden lol Maybe someone who hasn’t broken out yet or had the chance to. Maybe someone who is “underutilized”. Maybe someone who is a sixth man. Maybe someone who is already an all-star/star caliber but is playing 2nd fiddle on their current team. Like Portland found something in Deni Avdija. (JAG in Washington) It was Trae Young’s team in Atlanta and now it’s suddenly Jalen Johnson’s. Knicks took Luka’s Robin and made him Batman. Did the Clippers know they were trading a top 3 player? Did the Thunder know they were getting a top 3 player? (No & no) Did the Kings know they were trading a guy who would lead his team to the Finals? Hell, maybe that guy is currently on our roster! lol You think Jabari can become our Deni? Of course teams don’t give away stars. But stars do sometimes want out, want to move on. And teams are forced to trade them. So you position yourself to be in position to go after them. No, I can’t tell you who that is or who will be next. No one saw Luka getting traded. Giannis appears to be the next one on the move. But after him, who knows. We may not be the Lakers and Celtics but we ain’t the Hornets and Pelicans either. Durant became available, Durant wanted to be here, they got a deal done. Traded for Westbrook Traded for CP3 Traded for Harden Traded for TMac Traded for Barkley Traded for Drexler Traded for Moses Obviously very unlikely but the dream target is Edwards. Send the farm!
Sengun is way better than Green. Green was just hunting and manufacturing his shot, the team would freeze around that. Senhub is both higher percentage and more engaging for teammates. Like I said: a very viable #2 option for an elite team. The Lucas, SGAs, Brunsons, etc are #1 options, so not a fair comparison... We can't run our 37 yo #1 option into the ground, somebody needs to share the load. Sengun is one of the best in the league as #2 option
