Just spitballing but it’s for Turner (starting Center that can shoot 3’s and is a rim protector), Rollins (starting sg that can shoot 3’s) Portis (PF that can shoot 3’s) and 28 FRP from GSW who will suck by then, Giannis or not. I’m not sure I would do it or maybe both frp’s need to come to us. We would definitively be better equipped to win it all this year. We lose the trade big time if Sengun develops a 3. If he doesn’t develop a 3 Sengun is borderline all-star and worth the gamble.
you’re bringing up Kobe Bryant What am I supposed to do with that? it’s not even a question worth discussing when it gets to that point
Again, what am I supposed to do with that? Larry Bird has shot 6-20, Lebron has shot 6-20, Steph has shot 6-20 Sengun can’t hold Kobe’s jockstrap, so Idc that Kobe had 6-20 games…it’s a meaningless point
Trying to understand your logic on piling on sengun after 1 game. We didn’t even lose. Besides the fact that you are just a hater. Cuz all your favorite players had bad games. That’s the whole point
Turner, imo, is basically just a honed Jabari Smith. Portis may restore some of our fighting mentality but that's about it. "Win it all" isn't even on my radar though, so I think we're looking at it differently on a fundamental level. I'm not familiar with Rollins. Honestly I would rather cut my nose to spite my face than to help the legend of GSW at all. We did our part, man. It hurts enough just to root for Durant lol... I think I'd rather just make the play for Giannis. Sengun, DFS, Reed, couple 1sts... who can beat that offer? Let em. If we can cobble together some shooting "win it all" is a phrase that can be used for us again.
That’s not fair. Now rank those guys by Assists. Alperen is a creator, and a very good one. He’s not a finisher like many on the list. This year he is even tasked with extra duties in handling and initiation because we don’t have a PG. Bottom line is he has to manufacture offense for himself and for others and is quite good at it. Footwork, moves, reads, passing vision.
To be an All-Star you have to be Top 20 player in the league and Sengun is unfortunately not in that range. East get free ride to all-star reserve even being around top 30 but not here in the west
His defense improved in in his 3rd yr and hasnt gotten better. Maybe it was slightly better last yr but not this yr. And as far as upward trajectory because of being an all-star last yr, well, i guess we are on his downward trajectory now...
He is a creator. Issue is that he's not dangerous enough as a shooter or creator to justify how much he's used. I almost feel like he himself knows it. Which is always the slippery slope with guys like Sengun, Jalen, Edwards, SGA, Curry, Reed, Luka, Brunson, etc. You are either absolutely elite at the facet of the game you are good at (which he isnt) or youre a 6th man at best. I think he's had enough chances and usage to improve but SenHub is just not a thing. Its fine but like Jalen before him, is too easy to stop for teams at the top of the league. Reed is facing the same sort of issue. He needs to be a lights out shooter or he essentially serves no purpose. He too is a great creator but gives up too much defensively and isn't lights out enough on his jumper to justify giving him heavy minutes. I wish he had gotten better. He just hasnt. But he could definitely serve a purpose to another team that wants to give SenHub a go. Sometimes people need a kick in the ass to get them into gear. But thats clearly not happening here.
As rockets fans, we tend over value our own players. That’s why they need to trade sengun and Sheppard. I hope this was a wake up call. Sengun will never be anywhere close to jokic and Sheppard is not the next curry.
