Im trying to think someone else out there. I just threw his name out there. I really hope the rockets sell high on Alpi. We desperately need a game changer on the perimeter. The Rockets have the pieces to make it happen, we just have to put together a deal one of these teams can’t refuse. But the problem is Stone has no real connections around the league to get teams to join 3 or 4 team trades to help him out like Morey would do.
Some posters here really undervalue Sengun. I just wonder if his recent struggles (largely caused by his ankle) are leading to the "trade him!" ideas, or just some sort of unreasonable dislike. Obviously, if you can trade him and upgrade, great (if the trade is reasonable, whatever "reasonable" is.)
I don't see anyone on the Rockets as untouchable. I think some on this board see an incredibly talented, but flawed team. I am in this boat. I'm not sure of the best path forward. I think Sengun has increased in trade offers as things are getting difficult and he's basically needed in a lot of trades for great players on large salaries. Conversely, proposals for great players still on rookie contracts likely should include Amen instead unless there is an ulterior motive.
I’m not anxious to trade him. Mostly responding to the one of Amen or Sengun have to go guys. Personally, I would like them to use a draft pick and DFS to get a SG that can shoot and play decent defense. I certainly wouldn’t trade Sengun and more for Giannis who is a bad fit. I’m not trading Amen for anything. If Sengun is going back, I want a starting SG and a really good shot at a top 3 pick in this year’s draft.
I just have my doubts of him longterm and not sure if I want to hang onto that 5yr contract. I also want a top 3-5 pick in this years draft for another guard I like Sengun and don’t think I’d even trade him for Giannis but if you could get a solid replacement like Sabonis(2yrs left) or Prozingis(1yr left) + the Kings / NOP 2026 pick… I think I’d do it. We could probably buy a center with all the money coming off the books in coming years and build around the other guys. Amen will probably have the only big contract
Rockets IN : GOGA Bitadze Anthony Black Jase Richardson Rockets out : DFS Tate Aaaron 1st rd Sun 2017 2 2nd rd picks I figure only trade without involving the young core, should give what rockets need exp in. 1st rd pick for Jase and Black. Rockets get younger.
It would probably cost Eason and DFS. He looks like he could be another Lamelo Ball type player. Would probably also cost 2 first lol.
Yeah even though I was throwing around ideas I don't think we can or should trade Sengun right now. I think he's currently a better overall player than Amen, and Amen may catch up and surpass him, or maybe not. Depends on how they each continue to develop. I also don't think we should trade Amen, he has incredible upside if his 3P shooting ends up doing what his FT shooting already did. I don't think it's time to choose between them yet, and if either or both develop a jump shot, maybe it never will be. Despite the KD trade, I don't think we're actually in a big rush to make win now moves and make long-term decisions just yet. I think we can afford to wait at least one more year, if not longer. As far as the idea that we'd be selling high... I could be wrong on this, admittedly, but I don't believe we'd be selling on Sengun at his highest value point just yet. I think he has at least another year of growth and improvement left in him before he tops out, and maybe more.
I would trade Eason while he is still a Rocket. Any value is better than nothing as he walks away by being overpaid by a desperate team. His actions show he doesn’t want to be here when he didn’t sign with us. He wants to get paid and he may. Anthony < Tari (talent & potential) Anthony > Aaron (backup point) we are trading for fit & controlled contact random thought the Suns pick doesn’t have the same appeal after we traded with them. Green hasn’t even played for them yet. The center they picked with the 10th pick will just get better too. Filling the point long term (after FVV is gone) with a pick going from great —> average —> bottom 1/3 of the draft. AND a player that we can’t make happy & playable filler. If needed to close the deal —> SURE.
lol no way Magic agrees to that. Black's trade value is probably at its highest and J Rich has just been drafted. No way they are giving him up that early especially when you're getting back garbage bags in DFS and Tate
https://kingjamesgospel.com/cavalie...ssage-without-mentioning-him-once-ellis-trade I like Strus and he's exactly kind of shooter we could use to pair with Reed and KD to open the floor. However, the article above lays out the likely reason CLEV trades for Keon Ellis is to cover the role that Max has opened up. He's looking like he might not be back this year and if he does come back, how effective will he be? Stone could pull an Adams like trade by sending a couple of 2nds and salary matching with hopes he returns in March and plays all of next year. That kind of deal would require probably Adams or DFS going back and not sure would really benefit either team this year, so the likelihood is low. Don't really want Ball. Sharpe would be interesting get and Christie would be great, but doesn't make sense for DAL to trade him. Patience is tough, but I agree with your view. None of our youngsters are close to finish products yet and it's up to our coaches to figure out how to get the most out of their talents.
I’m for it if they are certain that Tari is gone. Orlando will have the same problem re-signing Tari since they are going to be a 2nd apron team when Paolo ‘s extension kicks in next year. They might do it for 2 of our picks plus Tari, but I don’t think they will go for just the Phoenix pick. That’s a really high price to pay for Black and we could probably get something better with that offer.
I’d rather trade Eason + picks for Black vs Coby if that’s the package. If rockets no plan to keep Tari I’d probably do it. Black / Amen backcourt would be interesting if Reed don’t get his act together
Absolutely. Just think Coby can be had for one pick, but Black will take 2. Might still be worth it, as long as the two picks are 27 Phoenix and 30 or 31 Rocket picks.
I know the Bulls want to keep Ayo Dosunmu but I'd love to explore what it would take to get him on the squad. Tari+Reed+2nd (via Chicago) gets Dosunmu and Julian Phillips as filler. Dosunmu is a quality 2 way guard. Pairing him with Amen gives you an extremely efficient 2 way backcourt to bolster your stars being bigs. You can play big Dosunmu-Amen-Jabari-KD-Sengun, you can utilize Amen's versatility when FVV comes back Fred-Dosunmu-Amen-KD-Sengun, I think it's a move that really tightens up the roster and redistributes the balance.
I’d do two picks for Black. Anything besides the Nets 27’ I don’t really care about. I’d rather have a consistent guard who can score 10-15pts a night until Reed gets his **** together. They might take Reed + 1 pick to help their books. Not sure who’d I’d rather keep right now
