I'm way more in the Dinwiddie for Free camp than the Waste Assets on Lonzo camp. And Spencer himself has a very good sense of what the Rockets really need this season:
Very interesting as a buyout guy on a minimum after the Cavs salary dump him. He can defend 1-3 really well, handle, and pass. Total flyer though since his shot has completely left him. Ime would love him. Zero chance the Rockets acquire him directly in a trade on his $10M/yr salary.
Apparently they are trying to trade him for an expiring salary to be under the apron. Not sure if we can even offer that.
Our offensive rebounding game is strong. Ball is shooting 30.7% on the season [27.5% from deep] Must get Ball to generate more offensive rebounds??
As speculation I don’t know enough but it’s the kind of move I would like if it happened. Would assume they knew more about his injuries and ability to knock down wide open looks than me. Im higher on the fit for a great connector / ultimate frisbee player who can pressure the ball with a shooting question mark. A Josh Giddey or Anthony Black type for this team would have more of a positive effect than the half court spacing police think.
Wasn’t he really good five years ago. But now it looks like he’s had a dramatic drop off. I don’t know what the trade would look like. But, I can’t see him being worth much. He’s a backup having a bad year.
Stone is the master of accumulating a bunch of weak/non-shooters, so Idk why you would make that assumption Lonzo isn’t getting open looks in Cleveland? How many non-shooters are we gonna have on one team?
Avoid guards that shoot under the Westbrick line (30% from 3). Lonzo's shooting is beyond horrible this year. 30.7 FG% and 27.5 3FG%.
