This is my thought as well. But then I had to wonder, what illness would be one worth concealing so tightly from the public and media? Maybe a sexually transmitted one? The whole situation is so weird.

I'd rather sign Mays 12-13 and Kenneth Walker III for 11 million, and draft a TE like Stowers.

 

Cut bait and sign someone else. Lip play from his mouth about playing next year.

 

If they keep Mixon I hope it's on a reworked deal that lowers his cap number significantly. Otherwise I'd rather sign a FA like Walker than hope for a guy coming back after missing a year.

 

I really cannot see any way that they keep Mixon on his current deal. It would be borderline criminal.

Im cool with a David Montgomery/Marks/Draft pick backfield.

 

Seattle has the cap space to keep Walker and will most likely keep him after Charbonnet went down with an ACL. Breece Hall is a RB that profiles like Walker at about 11 mil per yr. I really want a top tier TE and the Texans haven't had one since OD. To get Hall you would probably have to let Rankins go and I would rather keep Rankins and pair him with a draft pick like Hunter to develop a great DL and sign an Allgeier/Rashaad White type RB in FA then spend a draft pick on Price or Mike Washington. Washington has been tearing up the Sr. Bowl and if the Texans want him they're going to need to pick him with the NYG pick at the top of the 3rd rd.

 

I'd rather go for Walker personally. Mixon can't stay healthy, and honestly he rushed for less yards per carry than other FA running backs we could sign.

 

Rashaad White is trending toward Breece Hall / Walker III $$$. I think it was you who was on the Allgeier train initially (good call)

 

I'd like Walker. It's tough to give a RB big money though with so many holes

 

Give him the Brevin Jordan type 1yr ext and draft a RB in theater rounds. Like the Indiana, Penn St or ND RB#2.

 

Whatever Mixon health problems were, hopefully he recovers and is back to normal.

Seems it was a non Football related health problem. And I agree, he should keep it private and let only those that need to know about it.

I didn’t anticipate him coming back, but if he does, that would be much welcomed.
