Ime had Will hardy and Joe Mazzulla on his coaching staff in Boston. I think Ime took the Rockets job and wanted to prove that he can coach offense. That is why they didn't hire a competent assistant coach.

this coach is trash. still don’t understand why these scrub role players become coaches. Darvin Ham was a better player than him, he had no business coaching either.

Any average coach knows durant should never initiate the offense.

I don’t understand why sign capela for FIVE MILLION if he’s not even going to play consistent minutes?

Like look at Tim Hardaway Jr. 13 PPG on 40% 3 pt shooting on a VET MIN. Meanwhile our biggest 12 mil year signing was injured.

Because they sit on the bench alot and watch whats going on differently, and they're around coaches alot. They're usually better coaches than the good players

Crazy we gave such a limited coach an extension. Has completely no idea at one end of the floor and very poor in game decision maker.

Eloquently spoken. I was against the DFS signing for that reason. Shame on Stone and Ime too.

Even in Europe's lower leagues, they wouldn't give a job to someone who makes such bad decisions one after another. They wouldn't even give him a school team. The Houston management is unbelievable, really.

Such a stupid move by Stone and Fertitta. He had 2 years left on his original deal if I'm not mistaken. Why not have him prove himself this season by actually winning at least one playoff series? Especially since this is the first year in which there are genuine expectations for the team. Even last year entering the playoffs as the 2nd seed, the Rockets were underdogs against the Warriors so no one was shocked when they lost in the first round.

Instead they're now saddled with a 66 mil extension that they'll either have to eat or they'll be forced to keep the guy around even as he wastes what's left of KD's prime and fails to develop Amen, Jabari, Tari, or Reed(while Alpi's game remains stagnant).

Can we talk about how Stone has been as a gm? Most his draft picks didn’t turn out to the level of what they should have been.

trading the nets pick which could turn into a top 3 this year for suns picks that will be basically nothing.

    DING DING DING !!!

They could force an offensive coordinator on him though, that would be a smart move, take away that end and put in someone more creative there.

At minimum they need to do that. If he doesn't like it, he can quit. I still think Ime has major deficiencies as a coach beyond being clueless on offense, but at least that would make them a more consistent and competitive ballclub.

More than offense it is his rotations and inability to make in game adjustments. We will probably be isolation heavy with the current personnel regardless of coach

Pretty much. Even the defense has regressed. And it cannot be blamed entirely on trading Dillon and losing Fred to injury.
