So we did all that tanking just to get Giannis and KD and raffle off our entire future? Or are we still pretending Amen is a future top-anything player?
that was 85 years go. last 5 nba champions have won with home grown drafted talent. build from within.
I actually think we should hope it's a bidding war and the Spurs foolishly trade Harper + a ton of assets to get him. Heck, Harper, Castle, + picks as long as we're dreaming. It would lower our chances of winning a championship this season (if Wemby and Giannis are healthy for the playoffs, which is by no means a given), but not going to lie, I'm a little afraid of what San Antonio is going to look like when Harper reaches his final form. Giannis will probably be in deep decline in a few years.
I don't want Giannis. Sengun shows big time flashes but his international play needs to be cut down or he is Yao II.
That's my bad, I actually didn't mean to quote you I must have accidentally pressed your post on my way scrolling down the page on my phone, sorry about that.
Oh yeah if you do this deal you better be a true believer in Amen, Jabari, and Reed. Because you do this deal and there is virtually no young talent walking through that door until a year after KD retires.
Amen is a ffuture top 2-way player looks at his maturity, mentality, attitude, bball IQ, priority on wins, net rating leads the team in BPM https://www.nba.com/stats/players/traditional?CF=TEAM_ABBREVIATION*E*HOU&dir=A&sort=PLUS_MINUS leads the starters in Net Rating https://www.nba.com/stats/players/advanced?CF=TEAM_ABBREVIATION*E*HOU&dir=A&sort=NET_RATING Amen's simply a winner not a chucking front-running loser why would even any Rcokets "fan" with half a brain consistently continue to cast doubt on Amen being a winning 2 way player?
I support it even given the age disparity. Sengun has already shown he tends to be ineffective against strong defensive teams like OKC, Wolves, Spurs and has trouble against tough interior defenders like Draymond as witnessed in last year's playoffs. Also he has Luka tendencies to complain and forget his assignment and box out. Lastly he is soft. So while he is great during regular season, his game doesn't translate well in the playoffs where the defensive intensity drastically rises. Giannis is a proven playoff warrior. My only concern is whether he still have the thirst for the second championship. With that said, the number one priority the Rockets should focus on is Jrue Holiday.
You ain't winning a chip with Sengun, Amen, Jabari or Reed as your centerpiece. This is a 2nd round exit team for the entire future.
I wonder if this board realizes that whenever we win the title, it will come after an entire season of people declaring that such and such player won't become anything, our team is nothing but a playoff exit and our coach would be lucky to be a janitor. And we'll win a title anyway.
A healthy: Sacramento Kings team will beat this current team in a playoffs series Dallas Mavericks team will beat this current team in a playoffs series Portland Trailblazers team will beat this current team in a playoffs series Golden State Warriors team will beat this current team in a playoffs series Basically I don't have confidence in this team making it out of the 1st round and yet people here want to hold on to our young assets and see if they grow....yes they will grow but by that time Durant will be gone from our team. And their growth (if it finally happens) isn't good enough to beat the top teams in the league and we will remain a solid playoff team that will get bounced in the 1st, 2nd round of the playoffs every year.
Rockets need to get involved in getting Giannis to the Wolves. Jaden McDaniels needs to be a Rocket. Worry about fit later. He's an allstar waiting to blossom and would fit PERFECTLY next to Amen and Sengun who need shooters surrounding them. Jabari is not that guy, and the team needs to move on from him whether it be now or in the off-season. there are two iterations of the trade. These players would go to Milwaukee or Minnesota. Reed+Adams(salary)+Holiday or Tate (salary) + Okogie out with probably 2 FRP equivalents. or Jabari (poison pill can be solved) + DFS + Adams with 3 FRP equivalents for McDaniels and Portis. This gets rid of Jabari's contract, DFS Contract and Adams contract but gives up superstar FRP value. Amen/Tari/Jaden/KD/Sengun has three reliable shooters surrounding two non shooters. Building around Amen/Sengun is going to be tricky. 100% everyone else on the court has to be 40% + from 3. Jabari is not that.
Yeah no sh*t. If Amen, Sengun, or Durant get hurt we are screwed. Pretty much a given that Wemby and Giannis are riskier in that regard. Be better? How silly.
