Offense was moving fluid the first half when he was in the low post For some reason we decided to move him up to catch a pass at the 3pt line and then burn 18 seconds off the shot clock every play Looking back to the 3rd Q this is when the collapse started. Insane to keep trying this when we had such good ball movement initially.
Based off all the losses we have recently, Ime tends to change things up when things are working. I feel like he wants to prove a point that his plays work even when they don't. I imagine that his staff asks him to move away from that specific play and he humors them by letting it run for the first few quarters
maybe it’s all dreams fault. every other center (centerpiece) in this franchise does the same stuff, except yao, soft AF but a deadly touch
it’s literally that simple. this team has no personel. i would do the same thing let amen shoot the WHOLE game because this coaching system is terrible
didn't help that amen got scared and stop taking the mid range around the FT line area he was looking for KD and sengun whenever spurs don't guard him
Yeah, but if Amen stands outside the 3 pt line, Wemby can't camp the paint. So id Alpy then gets low block against a smaller defender he should be able to score...
our young players defer to KD too much, i saw numerous plays when Amen just dribbles the ball to find KD, Reed and Shengun also do that, and this usually ends in a bad shot or turnover, they need to learn to just play their game and let the game flow as it should, basketball is really not that complicated, if u see a lane, make a hard drive, if u have space take the shot, u gotta be able to attract 2 defenders and then dish out, if u try to force the ball to a certain player, it is much easier for the defenders to defend, our teams just lack this personnel which is supposed to be a guard.
Sagging off Amen Thompson has nothing to do with poor coaching by Udoka or personnel issues. It’s on Amen for being a poor shooter, and he needs be locked in a gym with a shooting coach until he can first knock down open 10-15 footers and then three-point shots. Amen needs to take pride in his game and fix this weakness. The Rockets start Durant, Jabari Smith Jr. and Tari Eason next to Amen. All three space the floor. The problem is you can’t have two non three-point shooters in a lineup and have a good offense in today’s NBA. Sengun or Thompson have to be a threat to take and make open threes, or they are going to be a clunky fit on offense.
