I have no burner accounts, but if I did, I would agree with myself 100% of the time. People love to post about me, I feel so special. DD
KD obviously is still a helluva player. But, he needs the right pieces around him. Losing FVV was huge. Amen having to take on those responsibilities has taken him away from what he does best. Tari has predictably missed a ton of games. DFS has taken longer than first thought to come back. Reed is going to get there, but it'll take time. And, for all that he brings to the table, there's no margin of error for Ime and his weaknesses. We gave up essentially five firsts and five seconds for Slim Reapa. Contrary to popular belief, he didn't come cheap. That said, he's certainly lived up to expectations. It's just unfortunate regarding the confluence of events.
I'll never be upset at the KD trade, because it shipped Jalen Green out of Houston. The brightest spot in Tilman's ownership of this franchise. What I am puzzled about, is a coach who literally simply needed to do everything they did last season on offense, but then let KD shoot every shot Jalen did. Instead, he's made 2 of his 3 most important players worse by playing them to both their literal weaknesses and culling their strengths and the things which actually make them amazing. Just so we can watch KD turn it over at the top of the key at the slightest pressure while everyone else stands around. This team drastically needs a new coach, or an offensive coordinator who is allowed to b*tch slap Udoka and tell him to shut the f*ck up and sit the f*ck down every time the ball crosses halfcourt.
Basically it was like back in the day when you'd be shopping the DVD bargain bin at Walmart, and you found a special edition box set of a really great movie marked down to like 80% off. Sure, it was an older movie by that time, not a recent release, and maybe Blu-Ray just came out and Netflix just launched its streaming service, so it would be outdated pretty soon... but still a great deal for one of the best movies of all time that has aged like fine wine. I think you take my meaning. Also, it was time to move on from Jalen Green.
Nothing in that articles talks about what “works better”, they just explain grammatical norms. Does normal mean better, Os?
Would you mind explaining this one? How is Green, Brooks, and the #10 essentially five firsts and five seconds? IMO, Brooks and the #10 are the cost of unloading Jalen's contract so we essentially got KD for free.
I think Tilman thought Phase 3 was easy peasy .....but real life is different ....KD has been better than advertised but he is still 37 and not a real playmaker with 5-6 Turnovers. The direction is blurry at best right now......yeah you got a underdog chance to win it all....... This reminds me of the Yao and Mac years when you got Artest but Udoka has nothing on Adelman's Princeton system. JVG got canned.
The KD trade was just an upgrade, pure and simple combining JG and Dillon Brooks into a much better player. JG has only played 2 games so far and Dillon Brooks is being an inefficient chucker in PHX, shooting 34.5% TS. I dont care about KD's age he is still better than those 2 till he retires.
I remember people questioned OKC in '24 for adding Gordon Hayward & Bismack Biyombo, as being "too ambitious of title hopes" for their young developing team. Look what happened the following year. I think OKC might have influenced projection changes for others as well. Like, San Antonio is gelling now. The Rockets can't wait on a Jalen Green to counteract those teams
I guess that with a healthy FVV and DFS, we would probably sitting comfortably in #2 by now. Stone made a mistake with Fred’s and Adams expensive rate in their re-signings. I mean what was the rush? With KD in the mix, it’s obvious that they would prefer staying here as Rockets rather than pursuing few more $ in other teams. If we could save some money, we could sign another pg backup that could replace Fred. Regarding dfs - it’s either our medical staff that made a mistake by not evaluating how serious his injury was, or Stone’s fault for giving him the contract while knowing his injury status. But despite the above criticism, I can’t argue that in an injury-free world, we were able to put up a nice team that can definitely compete for the title.
With the way Udoker is playing guys like KD or FVV 40 minutes per contest, it is not difficult to see why they are at risk of injuring themselves. Health is Pure Luck under Udoka.
I was okay with getting KD. We just overpaid for him IMO. At the time, I posted as much. Jalen, as much as I didn't want him here anymore, and in spite of his contract, was worth a couple of firsts.(2) Dillon was worth at least a first, maybe more. (1) And, then there's #10. (2) Along with the five seconds we sent. For all PHX's hemming and hawing, words to the contrary... asking for the moon... Green WAS indeed their target. And, they got their culture setter. Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic about having KD. I know he stays a Rocket, but if he was to be put back on the market, he would STILL fetch a healthy return. The guy's just AMAZING.
