Need a stretch 5 though dude. Giannis isn’t a 5. Unless the Rockets plan to play him at 5 which doesn’t make sense. That’s why a deal for him needs to include turner or the rockets at least will have to get s stretch 5.
Rockets fans want to trade every young player who isn't a current MVP candidate. We would have an 800 year old team and be rebuilding from scratch in 2 seasons...but we might get to the second round. I was fine with the Durant trade because Jalen had been literally the same damn player since his rookie season, but just dumping all the core for a quick fix that won't actually be good enough for a title is the height of stupidity.
Yup. The floor of a team can drop. This current squad is far from perfect, and it'll take some time, but an impatient mis-step can easily set the team back; even into a play-in territory.
I don't really get it. Sengun can't shoot from outside which creates spacing issues. And you want to replace him with Giannis? So instead of giving the ball to Sengun at the 3pt line and let him waltz his way to the basket, we now can give the ball to Giannis at the 3pt line and let him go straight line to the basket. Instead of seeing Sengun brick FTs, we now can see Giannis brick FTs. Make sense.
It makes no sense. Giannis is a bad fit for this team unless you get rid of both Sengun and Amen, ruining any kind of long term championship contention. It is an asinine idea for a win now move that won’t win now. Trading Sengun must bring back a top 30 player that can shoot and an above average center that can defend the paint and shoot from the outside. There are only two guys that’s are not injury prone, too old, or without albatross contracts that fit the bill. Adebayo and Jokic. Sengun is better than Adebayo, but Adebayo is probably a better fit for this team. Miami doesn’t have the other pieces to add to make it a good value for the Rockets. Amen and Sengun are your core players for the future. For the near term we just need another backup combo guard and another backup center to spell Capella until Sengun gets back to health. The biggest problem with this team is the way Ime manages his rotations. We have one of the best rosters in the league. It’s up to Ime to make it work.
??? Maybe Sengun becomes the greatest player in the game some day, but what he becomes is an if. I doubt the Rockets trade for Giannis, because I think teams have undervalued FRPs (proposals speculated by media are way too much for a year and a half of Giannis plus Bird rights). That said, Giannis is a lot better than Sengun currently. The difference in their scoring efficiency is bigger than the distance between Sengun and DFS's scoring efficiencies. This is while Giannis has the ball a lot more. Maybe Giannis won't be healthy. Maybe he won't be worth an extension at his age. I get the reluctance to trade a lot for Giannis based on health, age, and NBA's valuation of stars vs picks being out of whack. Not wanting Giannis because of fit with replacing Sengun is silly when he does stuff similar to Sengun on offense, except Giannis is able to get inside over twice as often and finish at nearly 10 percentage points better than Sengun. On FT's, Giannis is a 65.5% shooter. That's more effective than the Rockets half court offense. Missing free throws sucks because those are missed essentially free points. Making 8 free throws a game while missing 4 still is much better than shooting 70% of free throws on half the attempts. Giannis's low percentage should be viewed as a higher percentage would help more, and not that him at the FT line is a bad outcome. I doubt Rockets trade for Giannis as the Bucks will want too much. I expect the Bucks end up keeping him, but end up getting shafted in the offseason as the longer they wait, the more power Giannis has in not extending and the less he's worth in a trade. I doubt the Bucks get the Durant-to-Phoenix deal.
Yeah, I get it that Giannis is better than Sengun. But we are not trading them straight up. The Bucks aren't that dumb. We are going to deplete our depth and youth (and likely future draft capital) to not fix our problem, just make it less of a problem. Sengun and Giannis have the same weakness, which is shooting away from the basket. They are both inside scorers. Giannis is much better at that. But the spacing issue is still there.
Absolutely true! We need to trade sengun for giannis and amen and fvvs contract for a guard who can actually shoot
This is hilarious. Do these r****ds think that our forum members control the front office? Have they ever read the rest of the forum where it doesn't mention Sengun but does mention how much we hate what the team does with the roster/strategies/etc?
I'm not against trading Sengun or anyone on the team for a talent upgrade, but I'm no rush at all do so. I'd even do it for a superstar with an injury risk. But only in a situation similar to Toronto's with Kawhi, where their core had years to compete together and clearly had already hit their ceiling. Sengun is only 23 years old and under contract for four more years. By the end of his contract he'll still be in his prime at 27 years old, so I wouldn't even entertain the idea of trading him right now.
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id...iers-draft-picks-players-29-teams-offer-bucks What a stupid article. Why would Detroit be the most favorable team to trade with? Also none if these teams besides Portland willing to part with a star or potential star. Portland is a serious threat if they include Sharpe or Avi.
Typical turk, haha. Only wants his player to have good stats, not actually win a championship. Why else would he want to send Sengun to Milwaukee of all places.
Because what they really want is neither stats, nor championships. They simply want the team to revolve around Sengun, which it would if he's what they got for Giannis. Alpi could average 25/10/10 and win a chip, but if he did so with KD or any other player as the "star" then the Turks will bey for blood and call for him to be traded. It's why it was good when they got rid of all them crazies early on after we drafted him, they're not actual fans.
