The additional agents have to act as local law enforcement and crowd contol. In Florida and Texas, local officials cooperate with fed officials and we don't see any deaths or even violence. You could always follow the money and go after employers. You cant eat in this country if you don't work Illegal immigrants don't get welfare or snap , the most help they can get might be from donations etc , but with inflation the way it is how many illegal aliens could 1 or 2 legal immigrants support anyways ? Many people that came in illegally were given asylum hearing dates. You can see how the judge rules and then deport them if asylum is not granted. you shouldn't go about doing it like they have : A catching people going to their hearings, B off the streets based on racial profiling, C incompetently and incorrectly detaining legal immigrants and us citizens. If you want something done , do it the right way, doing thing the right way requires time. There is no magic button to find and deport everyone. DHS even fudging their own numbers wont touch 40k a month . I'm not really in favor of using our tax dollars to pay people to self deport either, on the net illegals are probably paying more in sales taxes than they are getting from benefits. The best solution to immigration IMO is a stronger legal system , strict judicial review for asylum claims, and a path to citizenship for many. Without proper documentation these illegal immigrants are at a severe disadvantage in our society, they cant get any job requiring a real background check , cant get benefits, cant get a drivers license in 31 states. We may ultimately disagree on the true number that entered during Bidens term, but i do believe it was enough to cause some issues. I believe the haphazard enforcement and plan to deport based on quotas is making the "solution" a much bigger problem than the initial immigration spike
You say this casually like we have all the time and resources in the world. Yet every public school somehow has illegal kids. Illegals do get food without working based on checking the right boxes on their application, or local food banks, which democrats coach them on what to say. It's widely acknowledged all of them have used some form of food assistance at one point because you just have to say the right thing. American citizens can get help . Most avenues are closed off to illegal immigrants. You didnt respond to one of my first points, follow the money. Go after their employers. If they cannot work they cannot live. Embedded in the idea that there are 20 million ( or whatever # we are using ) illegal immigrants , is the idea that most of them are being employed illegally ( or were all 20 mil children ? ) Even if half then that's still 10 million people working illegally. Instead of trying to fund billions for ICE they could hire some forensic accountants and beef up the IRS and help local authorities spot fraud and illegally hiring illegals. On the net i think we disagree. Even if it is a net negative, its smaller than many other problems we deal with and the solution is actively costing us not just in budget but also in trust for law enforcement and violation of our rights.

did i say cut off the money and induce panic ? you use the money to find them. but , the real "issue" is that many of the immigrants you are calling illegal are actually documented and in the legal process. if the country truly voted to remove them you should be able to pass sensible legislation through congress to reverse that asylum and get them out quicker, if waiting a year for their hearings is too long
