Case Keenum should’ve been our starting QB from 2012ish to 2024ish. We would’ve won more games. Not so much unnecessary movement at that position. Could’ve put more money into linemen.
our defense is on another level, they would’ve kept it close and if we had an average QB we would have a chance but unfortunately our QB is ****ing trash and the offense is putrid
He basically looked like stroud (if not worse) in their big games last season and they had just drafted a qb high in the 1st round, it's really not that hard to understand.
They took JJ high in the first and after that disastrous playoffs and end of the season, everyone said to move on from darnold
Truthfully, Seattle's defense is also great. Nearly same stats across as Texans defense. League's best rushing defense. They are the fewest points league leader over the Texans. Lets say that Seattle's defense is 90% Texans defense. Still enough to be great to elite But Seattle's offense is 25% better than Texans. They're basically doing the Texans model, with better balance both sides of the ball. Seattle has a strong run game. Its not outstanding, but it's so much more dependable than Texans. I don't think Darnold is much better than CJ. But the Seattle org has done better structural focus to support the QB. Where-as the Texans depend more on CJ to produce, without giving CJ the line and running backs to do it. Basically I think outside of Ravens with running QB, Seattle would be a "bad matchup" for Texans
Seahawks already beat us once, would’ve beat us again. They are what the Texans strive to be. Spoiler All these “turnaround” QBs, fixed by offensive coaches Darnold: sees ghosts in New York, traded to Carolina(whatevs), sits and learns from Shanahan for a year, goes to McConnell in Minnesota, gets his payday with the Hawks Baker: dumped by Browns for Deshaun, also goes to Carolina (same time as Darnold), goes to LA with McVay, gets starting gig in Tampa Jones: cut by Giants, sits in Minnesota with McConnell, big year with Steichen, unfortunately gets injured Lawrence: generational hype, doesn’t live up to it, oh hello Liam Coen! Caleb: generational hype, fire defensive Eberflus, oh hello Ben Johnson! Stafford: not a bust but no success in Detroit. Goes to McVay who takes him to another level Goff: starts with Jeff Fisher, whispers of “bust”, gets with Ben Johnson in Detroit, now one of the better QBs Maye: again, not a bust but gets McDaniels, in the SB his 2nd year Mahomes: walks into great situation with Andy Reid, sits Nix: walks into a great situation with Sean Payton Love: walks into great situation with LaFleur, sits Purdy: walks into great situation with Shanahan (Shanahan just wins with whoever…Jimmy G, Purdy, Mac Jones) Hurts: one year with Pederson, rest with Sirianni; top 5 supporting cast (top 3 RB, great WRs, great OL, good defense) Y’all ready to fire Demeco I’m mostly joking but… Yes, these are two defensive coaches -Vrabel doesn’t risk losing McDaniels because no team is going to hire him -Kubes! (I personally gotta take the L on that one because I didn’t want him last year lol) We missed out: (but but but today he cost his team the game!1!!1! blah blah blah, don’t care, he’ll probably win another SB before we even make a conference championship)
Whatever. Keenum from 25 years old to 35 years old. how’s that? He would’ve been just fine. Coulda spent on other positions.
Darnold is still a high INT thrower. Seahawks offense is one of the worst in high turnovers The difference is Seahawks makes all their other plays count. Efficient usage of run & pass, what the "Kubahan" offense is about. Basically being good in everything else before an eventual turnover happens. ("We're concerned about maximizing the 97 plays before an INT") Which makes CJ's playoff collapse more frustrating. CJ did that all season, but turned into "Mahomes'ing it" to bad results
