What does a Sengun + Tari/Bari + Filler trade package realistically get you?

Damn Gina! You might be a defensive savant. You should really tell the rest of the NBA how easy it is to stop Sengun.

Soft-ass league - with defensive minds clearly inferior to yours - let Alpi carry the Rockets to a 2 seed and become an All-star. Then they let him dominate the World basketball stage. How dumb are they amirite?!

Moreover, I cited YEARS of positive play en route to leading a #2 seed and becoming an all star. They give him all that bc of a handful of plays? I merely singled out a few superstar level plays for fun.

My guy, this is the only reply you are worth. Your bias or stupidity - Idgaf which - are unbecoming.

And yet he gets completely shut down by guys like Isaiah Stewart, Draymond Green and Ivica Zubac. This has been his thing for years. You have to look at the bigger picture or the whole picture with Sengun. He's been in the league for 5 years. His jump shooting? The same. FT shooting? The same. His post play? The same. Maybe even worse. His defense? Better.

He's not a bad player. If youre an All Star you arent a bad player. But Sengun isnt tall enough, fast enough or enough of a shooter to justify any sort of high cost to most teams. He also doesnt have some sort of hidden upside like an Amen Thompson or Jabari Smith Jr.

The truth is, he is closer to Jalen Green this year than he is Nikola Jokic. If he flames out in the playoffs or gets stuffed into a locker by some random big on the opposing team, you can start firing up the trade machine because thats where this is headed. He needs to be way better than he is to justify his presence. Happy Sunday. Stay warm.

Sengun and Eason with no first round picks next year guarantees a future of first round futility. We have KD for 2-3 years and have a very short window to work with. Trade for Gia and let’s make a run like back 31 years ago which is the last time we made the freaking Finals.

You could cite anyone with years of positive play and it dont mean ****. Sengun has huge issues that stops him from being the number 1 option. I have no bias, i think Sengun is a good player but he is nowhere near being untradable. If he embraces the facilitator role he would be a huge piece in the rockets team, if he tries to be the number one the rockets will be a perenial 1st round exit.

Im a rockets fan first, i called it when JG was trash as #1 option and ill call it again if Sengun becomes our #1 option.

Superstar level of play? You are a fukn joke LOL. Going by your logic JG is also a superstar. Sengun atm is a fringe all star who is lethal around the key, that’s it. He’s a Jokic lite who cant shoot.

Sengun isn't going anywhere...if Reed continues to be our 6th man, I think we need to make a smaller move to upgrade our starting shooting guard position.
DFS is probably our safest move...TRADE DFS/2nd round picks for these available players:
    Mathurin
    Monk
    Coby White
    Cam Thomas
    Collin Sexton
    Risacher
    Grimes
    Max Christie
    Buddy Hield
We were playing good ball before DFS started to get rotation minutes. Tate and Okogie can have the same impact from a matchup basis...we just need another playmaker in the starting rotation. If Reed continues to play with this confidence, then he should be starting.
The Reed and Sengun pick-n-roll action is not fluid right now...seems like Sengun always instructs Reed to pop out in the corner and he wants to play bully ball which has been inefficient for us.
As of late, our offense has been its best when Reed is running the action which further proves Amen is best not playing point guard...Ime needs to put Sengun in his place when Reed is in the game with the starters.

Sengun and Reed pick and roll is non existant. But I dont blame Sengun, i just dont think Ime is asking for the team to run this. The priority seems to be Sengun Durant one-two combo. When you see players like Sengun and Bari bringing the ball up the court you know there isnt going to be any pick and roll involved with Reed, he will be running to the corner.

The only new thing im seeing drawn consistently for Reed is i think called the princeton pincer? Where Reed runs into the key and you have 2 players screening to get Reed open running back out to the 3 point line.

Sengun, before the last two weeks, has been playing at an all NBA level. You don't trade young guys who are doing this, full stop.

At that level it is crazy to trade him... I know he's not 100 percent. If we make a trade it should be a minor one where we get back CP3 or Alvarado.

Sengun got soft. Bought a huge mansion, has a trophy girlfriend and quit working on his game. He can’t even set a decent pick. His offensive game is predictable and slow and low iq. Time for him to go!

*Most would be done after July 1 when Jabari’s poison pill is lifted. (Like Jalen/KD trade)

Baby Scola & Jabari for AD.

Defense wins championships. You believe it, it’s in the coach’s DNA. Get the turnstile baby Scola out, AD in. +++he will no longer kill the Rockets.

Baby Scola & Jabari for Kat.
Baby Scola & Jabari for JJJr.
    Baby Scola for Porzingis.
Both modern day fives that will open up driving lanes for the team.

Baby Scola & Jabari for Giannis & Myles Turner
The time to strike is now. Only a few teams can offer better young talent. Bucks would be hard pressed to do better.

Baby Scola, Jabari, Reed & picks for Curry
Again, time to strike is now. Jimmy out. Kuminga, Moody, old/injured Butler, old Dray isn’t going to get them what they want/need on the market.

Baby Scola for Derrick White or Anfernee Simons
Celtics are looking for a big time starting center.

What do you mean “no” or “you need more”? Baby Scola stinks, clogs the lane, awful defensively and Jabari is Jabari. Honestly be lucky to get any of these guys. But time to capitalize. All these “around the edges” Tari(FA/hurt), DFS, Adams, Capela trade proposals don’t move the needle. Go big or go home. And we’re keeping our most important players in Fred, KD and Amen.

I'm not the world's biggest Sengun fan, but he's at worst a top 15-20 trade asset in the NBA right now. Just practically speaking. A "full draft" trade kind of asset.

No All-Star Sengun's age or younger has ever been traded, AFAIK. And he's on a long term contract at only 20% of the cap.

    That's just NBA asset math.

    To me, its about HOW he has been playing since the start of the season....moreso than the last two weeks. He's the since he entered the league;

    1) No 3pt shot
    2) No stamina
    3) No shot outside of 15ft
    4) Avg to below avg defensively

Im not picking on the guy, its just who he is. He's good around the basket and he has vision but outside of that, he's limited

Yes. He is hurt. We are slowly getting better with movement and picks. The best thing we could do is get another combo guard to either start or come off the bench and good defensive center to backup Capella while Sengun gets well. Trade a lightly protected pick and filler for Alvarado and a couple of seconds for DeAndra Jordan or the like. Monk would be an even better get but it will cost you Adams, Tari, and a lightly protected first round pick. I think the Rockets stand pat unfortunately. Stone doesn’t seem to have the balls for a mid-season trade.

it's interesting that no one really knows what Sengun value is. that's the purpose of the thread, i don't know what his value as a player is.

he came into the year on fire from the Euro cup. the three ball looked like it was finally going to be somewhat useful. free throws looked improved... now all that seems to be completely gone again. i don't think Sengun has a very high ceiling unless you use him as a pass-first "senhub" type player....unless he can make the 3pt% respectable.

if you keep Sengun with Amen long term he has to develop that shot. you can pair Amen with a big that catches lobs or spaces the floor. Sengun does neither currently. I think the writing will invietably be on the wall that you'll have to choose between these two players. Tari is problematic because I really think we have a chance to "cash in" before this off-season to a team that would pay him a salary he desires.

This can't be serious. Not sure how anyone can compare Alperen and Trae Young and think the trade value of both are similar.

    - Trae Young has a player option next yr and is seeking a max - Alpi is under contract for the foreseeable future and is below market value.

    - Trae Young is 6 ft tall and plays at a position where playmaking needs to be a given, and he offers negative defensive impact. Alperen plays at a position where playmaking is a premium (how many playmaking bigs can you name in the NBA?) and offers avg/negligible defensive impact. Alperen hasn't entered his prime whereas we have all seen the peak of Trae Young's prime. Not sure why we have so many fans who want to get rid of Alpi, when he provides such a unique skillset that is actually a premium commodity in today's NBA.

And please CF, stop mentioning Myles Turner as if he is some godsend. Every year someone mentions his name in trade rumors and for the life of me I can't understand why anyone would want this loser.
