Tell me which games "all their shooters are 'on'". This game @Buck Turgidson might have been the game you and your bookie might have been looking forward to. Sorry I was not able to tell you about it ahead of time. It was a fun game to watch however.
I have witnessed (I think) all of the Coogs games this season. They are improving at an exponential rate. If this continues with no injuries, they will go into the national tournament as a probable winner. When they shoot well, they are almost impossible to outscore. The upcoming Arizona game will tell a lot. They have looked scary in their last several games.
What I'm seeing is the Coogs are reaching the expected defensive level combined with offense talent like they've never had before under Coach Sampson
I’m not interested in their free throw attempts against schools like Oakland, Jackson State, Rider, etc. In their only loss (by three), Houston had 11 free throw attempts and Tennessee had 29. In their one-point win over Auburn, UH had 12 free throw attempts and Auburn had 33. Arkansas had 35 free throw attempts to Houston’s 25. Florida State had 18 attempts to 9 for UH. Baylor, in a 22-point loss, still had 31 free throw attempts to 13 for Houston. The only close game (against a p5 school) I remember where Houston had a noticeable advantage in attempts was against Texas Tech.
Fair points for sure. I guess this is yet another media-driven anti-Houston-sports conspiracy of refereeing instigated by the corporate overlords in New York!
This x100000...this team is just way more talented on the offensive end than any team Sampson has had there....and now the effort level is being played like a typical Sampson team on top of it.
Im loving this year's team and I hate to jump ahead but does anyone know how we're looking for next yr? With Uzan, Sharp, Tuggler, Flemings and possible Cenac all gone, who are some names we are in on? I know about the center and the guard they picked up but they are Freshman. Just asking
I think you know what the rest of us know. Only thing I can add is that we have a decent chance to add Caleb Holt. That would solidify another outstanding recruiting class for us if we can do that.
This was the prime time game and was moved up -- it was still only around 11° at tip off radar was pretty wild too.
We are still in it. Tugler getting KOed by refs difference in the game so far. We were up by 7 when he went to bench. Adjustments from CKS incoming as we speak. We got this. ETA: We were outrebounding them by 2 when Tugler went out. TT finished the half with 7 more rebounds and 7 more shot attempts by us. Even if Tugler can stay in the game in the second half our guards have to start rebounding. Zero rebounds between our 3 starting guards. Definitely need to improve that in the second half.
