Reed got them shook enough where they didn’t know what to do on D and gave us some easy baskets. Criminal to bench him during OT even though he smoked some layups.

 

The other night he said that he didn't mind Reed missing shots. (I guess that probably applies to other players too.) He just can't stand defensive mistakes. So basically, "I don't care how you play offense. Just know that if you mess up on defense, you'll be pull." That's Ime's M.O.

 

I didn't watch the game. Looks like it's a close game and we missed a bunch of FT and lost in OT.

Reading CF, apparently Reed got hot in the 4th but Udoka didn't play him after his hot streak.

 

Well he can take that MO, turn it sideways and shove it up his candy ass.

 

I thought Philly made a run and sabotaged themselves by going to Embiid .......both Embiid and KD turned it over like hell....

And Maxey's layup looked like Goaltend in retrospect.....and would have won them the game in regulation.

 

reed amen and Durant completely changed the game especially when reeds 3pt threat drew so much defense and gave our guys easy dunks

It is NOT lazy passing it is him being 37 and slowing down - he can't make that pass, he is slow now...he is a great finisher, not great at anything else.

And Ime keeps on ****ING that chicken by overplaying him and leaning into him when leaning into REED is the answer for the entire team.

Another defeat snatched out of the jaws of victory by not embracing REED and the TEAM first game.

KD is a big problem Ime is STAR ****ING KD, instead of leaning into team play which wins.

the problem is Jabari and alpi have been doing horribly on defense all game but he is ok with that I guess. Man this guy is an *******

KD SUCKS as a lead dog he is horrible at it.....

He is a finisher, nothing more at this point, the team would honestly be better if he were not playing at all.

Durant is absolutely correct. Yeah, his 8 turnovers didn't help, but at least KD did his part in keeping the game close by scoring 35 points.

The change that he mentions is to let Reed play 30+ minutes, and stop crucifying the young man for any defensive lapse. This team plays much better with Reed in the game. Everybody can see that, except Ime. Fire Udoka.

 

No….then we’d have zero offense. Reality is that our defensive coach can’t run offense and our GM has created an all defensive bad offensive team with no help in site. Just a horribly constructed and coached team. Can’t even make free throws. No changes will be made because the problem areas are running the team and they won’t fire themselves.

 

Not sure it’s KD that’s the problem more than it is that we don’t have one single reliable playmaker who can get the rockets into a set quickly. Sengun is also not really a playmaker. He’s a post scorer who can make good passes occasionally. I think this season has exposed him as not being a point guard that he thinks he is.

With Jalen Green last season we saw a tale of two teams… an effective team when he was on about 40% of the time and a grind it out defensive team when he was not because of the personalities of Dillon, Amen, Fred, Tari, and Jabari combined.

You take away Jalen, Dillon, Fred, and replace that with KD and you are getting something in return that is different that what any one of those players gave you, but you still are missing the single perimeter playmakers we had (who weren’t that good mind you but they could at least have good games) and you also take away two great defenders who gave us that edge…. And here we are.

 

Did KD really say this?

 

Turnovers and free throw shooting. Jabari being inconsistent. Defensive lapses. Udoka's substitution quirks. Durant playing way too many minutes. Injuries. This team has issues and isn't trending in the right direction. Hate to see it, but there's still time to fix a lot of that stuff. Not a great look right now though.
