Some of the reason for that is because he is expected to anchor our spacing on the perimeter, so he doesn't get as many offensive rebounds as our other guys. He's actually #2 on the team in defensive rebounding. KD is the same height as Jabari and has always been a 5 to 8 rebounds guy for the same reason. But, regardless of his height, he's an above-average rebounder for a guy who plays power forward. Obviously you're right that he is not KD, and he never will be. I think we all should adjust our expectations down to him being more like, "slightly better Harrison Barnes" up to possibly "Rashard Lewis with better rebounding" if everything goes great. That's not a bad player at all. Not a star, but a solid starter for sure.

That's more or less right on par with his current career averages of 43.9% and 34.1%. 8,010 minutes and 1,311 three point attempts, and somehow people still see him as a good shooter who has extended slumps instead of a bad shooter who has short-lived hot streaks...

Those were bad but getting out rebounded in crunch time when you got position against a guy 8 inches shorter than you is nasty work.
