I guess like AI girlfriends, AI is replacing D&D as a place to talk politics.

I thought about starting a thread about what Carney said about the old world order being over. I was thinking about the political science of it and what are the systemic changes we've seen in the world over the last half-century that makes a return to normalcy impossible, even if we got over the Trump fever. But then I thought about all the dumbass things trolls would respond with and then the attacks on the intelligence and moral integrity of those trolls that would follow instead of talking about the topic. Seemed tedious. So, instead I asked AI and it posited some things I disagreed with but it made reasoned arguments. So, I made counter-arguments and it had reasoned responses to those. I told it the axioms from which it argued were flawed and that it probably drug them out of some dark MAGA sewer on the internet. It assured me that it was arguing in good faith. I called it a fascist controlled by global elite billionaires that want to leverage AI to control the masses. It said I was being paranoid. In other words, it gave me everything the D&D could offer me, but without all the headache.

I was thinking about it the other day, there are very very few active posters I find reasonable in this forum anymore, virtually none who have opposing views, which is terribly boring and disappointing.

Social media has really fried discourse.

Always look forward to your takes, though.

This area is not what it was 10 years ago. It is unfortunate too as I learned things from time to time from what I would deem intelligent posters.

There is not substitute that I know of either. Even if I did find something comparable to some extent it would seem impersonal.

Reveling in being a troll as a middle aged or even older man is wild.
