stupid ass Biden and the Dems should’ve never allowed Merrick Garland to do what he did…4 whole years to charge and prosecute Trump along with his co-conspirators, and they did nothing

 

I've always thought that the threshold was crossed when we politicized torture in the W administration. That the United States, the main architect of Nuremberg, would support torture as state policy was unimaginable to me for the first 40 years of my life. Ultimately, we lost our vigilance--seduced by comfort and things, caught up in the everyday pursuits of job and family--and our neglect of civic life allowed horrors to creep from the shadows onto the national stage. You don't come back from that without relearning some tough lessons through tragic means. There is a bunch of uncertainty, suffering, and, more than likely, dying in front of us. Good luck to all of you.

 

America has never been stronger.

Trump has breathed life into this economy (that Biden torched) and our military (that Biden ruined). Trump ended 8 wars.

Trump is ending the Democrat-supported fraud networks across the country. The border is now a border -- secure.

Democracy is being restored to our voting process, which Democrats tried their best to ruin with their cheating and fraud.

Taxes are on the decline.

Energy production is now supported.

Manufacturing investment is pouring into the country.

The budget deficit is on the decline.

The trade deficit is on the decline.

The stock market is at all time highs.

Unemployment is low.

Inflation is low.

Gasoline prices are low.

I feel like every time America shoots itself in the dick we hear this, and then things just continue on as normal.

The problem the rest of the world has is that, for as bad as America can be, it's still the cleanest shirt in the dirty laundry.

There will come a day when another global reset happens. When and how violent that will be I don't know. But it's going to happen eventually, a system based around the US dollar cannot last forever.

Once we have a neutral monetary standard for the world, and major countries can no longer print their problems away and shove the inflation onto the rest of the world and the debt onto the future generations, everybody will sober up pretty quickly. America in particular.

I think that part of that event will include a reformation of our electoral system to unchain us from the mandatory duopoly that forced us into this race-to-the-bottom.

The trick is, how bad are things going to get before all of this takes place? Because the longer it goes on, the worse it will be.

We must purge everything Trump and write laws that protect our people from social media - create rules where social media is responsible for what is on it's own site, where news programs tell the truth or lose their license.

Good to see you finally getting it, Sam, though I think you are too cynical. Boldness by the Dems is absolutely necessary. The Dems blew it when they insisted on running the status quo types like Hillary, Biden and Kamala, when they insisted on pleasing the wealthy donors to the detriment of the majority. Obama at least if nothing else by his skin color seemed like a change, but disappointed. Ok, better than Trump all, so I voted for them. However, essentially campaigns saying;" It could be worse !! are not very energizing.

America with 4% of the population can't dominate the world. We will have to stop wasting our money on foreign wars. This will involve taking on the military industrial complex and the contented wealthy who do well in the stock market and vote largely to protect their right to pay less taxes than during the golden age of the majority from about 1945 to 1980. Polls show strong majority to tax the rich more and the roughly $75 trillion transferred from the lower 90% to the top 10%, but especially the top .1 to 1%. Agreat deal of it must be returned and a larger, more healthy, better educated working middle class will actually get the country moving in the right direction with less polarization.

I now agree my wife was right when she kept insisting that we should have tried Trump for treason asap after January 6 even if some of his supporters would have reacted violently. against the government. I opposed it because of the violence which would have occurred. . There are a lot of dumbasses and we see them on this forum, but doing so would have allowed cover for the sizable minority of even GOP'er in Congress to have impeached Trump and to have done what was needed to address his criminal coup attempt.

Trump must go down in history and not just a crazy character, but a clear traitor, a Benedict Arnold.

For at least 30 years, AM Radio, FOX, the "contract with America," Gingrich ordering his party to quit fraternizing with non party members, the Federalist (sic) Society, were all laying the groundwork. Many of those folks probably didn't even envision exactly what has come to pass now, and maybe not all of them would want this sort of thing in its lawlessness -- they each had their own goals, and for some it was just anger-tainment for ratings -- but all those forces had some form of wanting to fvck **** up, stoke a national white race riot. Congrats, I guess. Mission accomplished. **** is definitely fvcked up now.

In the mid-90's, I had a lot of long, cross-country drives, and I'd listen to Rush and even Dr. Laura, and think... damn, if average people are listening to this crap, we are headed for a reckoning. Spellbinding and persuasive, in their toxic way. I watched it infect and then end an otherwise long traditional of family reunions.

I just mean the poison has been on steady flow for a while and it had to have consequences. Angry white people of little means and not much education needing targets and excuses, hating the status quo that seemed to judge them as unsuccessful. Someone would have animated them brutally. Trmp was an accelerant.

Super sad in any case. Like everybody else, I've spent the last couple of decades doing what I could here and there and otherwise just hoping some narrow path of sanity could prevail.

You don't hear much about the now discreditted "supply side economics..

Redistribution from the "billionaire class" and the multi-millioaires will lead to less polarization. This can't be accomplished by moderate Dems accompanied with the few moderate Repubs.
