He’s right, but maybe don’t tell him. That said, if anyone can recognize the ‘7 footer who prefers to sit outside and launch long jumpers’ archetype it’s KD.
So now you're bringing your rude insults outside of the d&d? Even after a great win? Please be a better person.
This is the kind of offense many of us have been calling for. Getting away from the spamming of Durant and Sengun ISO’s, not eliminating them just not making them the sole focus on offense. Durant with an efficient 18 points, getting some critical buckets at times, 7 assists. More movement, more traditional rotations. Adams injury was a blessing in disguise. Reed having his best game as a pro and Jabari playing with confidence was such a high. When everyone is involved on offense, the energy level on defense goes way up. Tari is extremely important to this team as currently constructed. I hope he can either stay on the floor or DFS can step up. I hope Ime can control himself when Reed makes a few defensive mistakes going forward. Maybe Ime needs to go back to the formulaic rotations he ran last year to help Reed ‘s confidence, instead of his reactionary reward/punishment mantra. Reed is still going to get blown by on occasion, but if he can more consistently stay in front of his man, use his quick hands for steals, and stop the gambling it will encourage Ime to leave him in the game. We need his offense.
welcome to the truth. DD[/QUOTE] Never thought otherwise. I have always said if he can improve his defense he should get more minutes, just not at pg when Amen is in the game. Last night was a good example. Reed is much better when off-ball and being assisted. He is an elite spot up shooter, he is a pedestrian shooter off the dribble. We should lean into what Reed does best and that is shoot.
He did not need to improve his defense much at all, just needed playing time, his OFFENSE is what we need him for, and his quick hands. Ime ****ing it up by benching him over and over has literally cost this team at least 10 games this year....all those 4th quarter collapses go away with Reed in at PG.... His OFFENSE and gravity balance out the team....he is a KEY guy to making this all work. DD
One thing I noticed last night: we moved the ball. Lots more ball movement in the 2nd half. It’s one of the reasons our offense looked better. Keep doing that.
Same. Since this thread somewhat morphed into TMI… the wife wanted to engage in some extracurricular activities. Came back midway through the 4th and we were winning. I’m not a scientist but I am willing to continue testing this theory. Carry on.
He is a great spot up shooter. That is what we need, but just having him on the floor is not enough. The offensive scheme has to change from Durant/Sengun ISO’s to team ball. That is up to Ime. Sheppard could be an enabler of that if used correctly off the ball. Defense is half the game, so saying he needs to be on the floor regardless of how he plays defense is a fallacy. Everyone is going to get beat off the dribble at times, even Amen, but Reed has to play at least as good as last night to stay on the court, especially in the playoffs. Reed even said it himself in his post game interview. If he can’t get consistent on defense, he will have a career as instant offense off the bench or a Trae Young flash in the pan. I want him to succeed, but he needs Ime and Durant playing team ball to make it work if he stays on this team. Otherwise he will be traded for a two way player that can shoot 3’s and play defense.
Just telling it like it is breh. He’s a known Reed hater. You must be new here in the GARMS, plenty of rude insults flying around. Lol BTW- I don’t insult any posters here, you can track my posts. However; with him, I’ll make an exception.
Going small was the key - I have been SCREAMING about adding that contrast to our team. Notice that our comeback happened with lane clogger Adams out, as well as Alpi for most of it in the 4th. It opens things up so much, not saying we don't need either of them, but just add that CONTRAST to our team helps Reed made a few drives and that opens up his 3s..... When we have multiple ways to play, we are a much more dangerous team.......As for Adams I hope he gets better, but I honestly believe at this point he should only be a situational player. Leaning into rebounding when Capela has roughly the same rebounding rate and is a lob threat - is just bad for our team overall. DD
I think we should trade Steveo and Clint for a rim protector that better compliments Sengun. And if not, at least go out and get a cheap stop-gap rental like Robert Williams III. I’m a huge Steveo guy, but if he’s out for the season I’d think we need to start looking at his contract as an asset. I love the offensive rebounding, the screening, and the passing he provides, but he can’t switch, he can’t protect the rim, and I have grown to dislike the double big lineup because it clogs the lane for Amen and adds more non-shooting to a rotation that needs more shooting around Sengun and Amen. 2 more yrs of Adams at $13 per has to be very enticing for teams. I think we should be able to leverage that as part of a package for an upgrade somewhere on the roster.
You are extremely hyperbolic about Reed. 10 games, really? So if Reed was playing more we would be the best team in the league including OKC and on a record pace. Reed isn’t that consistent yet and in some games he deserved benching. I agree that the constant in and out (that what she said) has r****ded his development. Maybe last night’s game will wake Ime up and he will firm up his rotations.
