No PG and now no C for the rest of the season with no cap room to wiggle, I am not feeling optimistic. Stone will most likely chicken out and stand pat.
You both need to chill. We are all avid fans here, but you guys are taking this too seriously. You guys don't have to 'win' the debate. Differing opinions is in part what makes CF fun.
I thought I was getting a little too insulting in some of my D&D posts (difficult to avoid). Now I can breathe easy. Jeez, the Internet makes people brave, amiright?
If he does, we'll have to "January 6" the Rockets' FO. I don't think he'll be able to get away with pulling a Rafael Stone this time around. It's only a matter of time before Ime runs Sengun and/or Capela into the ground as well.
But he doesn't have many options. DFS is unpalatable, FVV has a no trade clause, and he doesn't have any cap room. I don't know which big will be available in the market but he might have to consider parting away with Tari.
You got me there. Tari for trade + DFS' guaranteed-only-for-1.5-more-seasons is about all we have in the cupboard. Tari would be attaching an artificial leg just to be put on the trade block.
There are things that Jabari does well, and as a few people have pointed on, the fact he can go every game and avoids injuries is one of them. He can also rebound and is capable of a relatively big scoring game every few weeks. However, he isn't a very efficient scorer - and to me falls into the old Daryl Morey comments about wanting to be the team that finds a player, not pays them.
With Adams out, better get comfortable with Capela as backup. He isn't going anywhere. As for trades, get ready to learn Dennis Schröder or Jose Alverado. Hoping we can snag Yves Missi along with Alverado.
He can improve in areas, and he will ....... but the likelihood of him suddenly putting the ball on the floor and hitting shots off the dribble or passing at a high level is very low. He will likely improve somewhat as a shooter from the perimeter if they keep giving him those shots, defensively in the post he will likely improve with age and strength........ but his skill set is such that he is likely a role player in the modern NBA. Being a role player is fine, and he has the chance to be a good role player.
Agreed. All we need is for him to play good defense, rebound, and shoot the 3 at 38% or more. It would be found money for him to be able to dramatically improve his handle, but unlikely. He is working successfully on his mid-range shot. If that gets to be a go-to, it makes him that more valuable.
The problem with a trade like that is you are sending out 3 players for 1 and you have either bring back in that trade, or sign 2 more players, aside from Ayo to meet the minimum roster requirements and you don't have any cap space to do that with. Those players are on minimum deals - filling roster spots doesn't get any cheaper. The team is at 14 players under contract now (not including 2 ways) and must be at that figure no later than 10 days after the trade is made official. Also, Chicago would need an open roster spot for each incoming player, they are at 15 now - that means they would have to waive 2 players to make it happen. Bundling minimum contracts to match often creates more problems than it solves.
Joker is a Sengun fan … take it with less than grain of salt “Serious rumor - Kuminga and Reed Sheppard are headed to Sacramento....” “It's not a guaranteed rumor, you know... But Kuminga to Sacramento seems definite... And I heard there's an offer involving Reed Sheppard...” “It might not be Takas, but Reed is going NOW, end of season GONE!” Spoiler What is @Codman hearing? Derozan? Schroder? Westbrook? McDermott?
