Never thought I’d feel lucky to be down by 10 at the half to the Spurs. Well, actually, I have closeted respect for their org and knew they were building a monster. So maybe. we just need to be sober about our team. We’ve got some great pieces. They don’t fit. I’m a little concerned about development. It’s valid to worry if we jumped the gun on the win-now approach. it should be okay to say that we are not gonna win a championship this season. My big question: what are we doing to make ourselves true contenders next season? And/or how are we strengthening the team for the long term?

Nah they are above average. The West is brutal and they still 5th seed. Mediocre would have them out of the play in in the West.
I like our energy and shots, wish we took more 3s. As much as I do think our defense is not up to where it should be.... Spurs aren't JUST getting wide open shots. If they hit 20 threes and their FTs, we can't win. If we could stop our unforced TOs and make some FTs, its a game, because I have a hard time believing Spurs are gonna hit 11 2nd half threes too.
Castle also flops, his head always flip soon as he feel the contact on the drive. He used get so many calls but recently refs are not calling it thus him having trouble scoring
Unless we gut the team to get Giannis there’s not a trade out there that’s going to make us a contender in the next 3 years. And I don’t think adding Giannis to Durant + whoever’s left is going to get us out of the West this year. We’re solidly average. Make the playoffs, get bounced in the first round unless we get a favorable matchup. And it’s not Reed or Ime’s fault.
The problem is FVV is gonna suck when he returns. He hasnt played for a year he will need a season to get back in shape.
