Yes. That is what these memory fuddled people want back. Bottom five PG in the league last year. Of course, the offense probably won't be any worse than last year. I guess to the 2nd seed was success people that's good enough.
He was our best player in the playoffs last season. He showed up when others didn’t. Odd how this guy gets so much hate.
After listening to FVV's comments, his words and body language seemed to be saying that he would not be coming back this season.
This is a false narrative. He was really good in 2 games, ok in 1 game, and putrid in 4 games. His first 3 games in the playoffs were terrible.
He finished strong, but people forget that the first 3 games he was what Jabari has been this season overall
He played poorly the first two games, but was good or very good in the next five. Especially the last four. I think he did the best of any Rocket. That’s my opinion, and anyone can look up the stats. Sengun played well, but Fred was more efficient.
I did watch the games. I thought Fred was our best player. That’s my opinion, and I think the stats back it up.
He gets hate because of the contract plus Ime running him 37 minutes last year despite killing us offensively last year. I like Fred, I think he would be a big help this year, but also am aware of his limitations and it can be pretty bad when he tries too much.
He shot .345 on 7.7 attempts last year. There is no chance he takes that many, so efficiency should be assumed to be career average of .371. Also, pace isn't about foot speed, it is about sets. I dont see how Fred could slow down a KD/Sengun ISO spam team. Using Hollinger's PACE metric, Houston was 101.6 last season (#15) and is 98.9 this season (#28). I dont get this logic. Or is this just a reaction to him taking minutes from someone you prefer?
Homeboy just ***** on anyone and everything. Really negative person… sucks cause I love Hendrix and breaking bad. He needs a job tbh.
There’s no reason to rush Fred back. There’s not enough time for him to get healthy and contribute this season. We are locked into Fred for next season so we should focus on getting him healthy and ready for the start of next season. to me the question is are we rolling with Amen and Reed at the point, come what may or are we going to try and make a stop gap move to help us compete this season? @carl_herrera pointed out that our front office has no incentive to acquire a point guard that reduces playing time for Reed and that sounds logical to me. So I’m bracing for the status quo for the rest of the season. They can rationalize that Reed and Amen will continue to get better and that DFS will round into form, and that Tari will get healthy…and that we will be better in the 2nd half of the season. I don’t see us as contenders but maybe we just let things play out and make adjustments in the offseason when it’s easier. Stone historically hasn’t done much at the deadline and that’s unlikely to change this season.
this organization is a lost cause if they’re relying on a short, fat, PG off an ACL who isn’t even that good to begin with if they don’t get PG help then this year is a waste and KD will be 38 next season no point in trading for KD if the plan was just to tread on by as a mid-tier WC team
I think FVV, like the team itself, got iced by the three games we gave away at the end of the season when we'd already secured the 2nd seed.
We do need help this year of course. But that "short fat PG off an ACL" etc etc is at least a point guard. We've had to shift everyone over in his absence. As long as they understand he'd take a while to gear up. Throw him in the deep end right away and we throw away even more games.
No, he just doesn't push the ball up the floor at all, and is slower than dirt on offense. Our pace with him is pretty bad, it is 90s basketball to a tee. If he could shoot 38% from 3.....no problem but he can't. DD
Yep, FVV is to blame for the Rockets only winning 68% of the time he played last season. The Rockets pace of only winning 58% of the time without him the past 2 seasons is completely FVV's fault. Imagine how bad the Rockets would be if he actually played. Not throwing the ball to the other team would completely hinder the offense.
I don't think that was the plan, but I think the peripheral moves they made around the KD trade weren't the best, and we definitely didn't end up a contender tbh,
