Either way they need to bring in a vet play called that commands respect, none of this young prodigy bs. Gimme Stefanski, McDaniels, Daboll, Kingsbury etc.
I saw plenty of open receivers the last two games. Many were not thrown to. The ones thrown to were in one spot and the ball was 5 yards in front of them 5 yards to the side of them or 5 yards over them. For all of CJs shortcomings out of college he was supposed to be Uber accurate. No mas.
So once again I’m not claiming to be an insider, HOWEVER my source is 100% reliable. Azeez has been playing with a broken hand since December. Stingley has been getting nerve blocker injections every game because his oblique never fully healed. His oblique ripped off the bone apparently. Lastly, apparently on the plane ride and bus rides nobody was slamming CJ. Seemed same as always.
That last part is aggravating. It may be because the team knows he can’t handle it emotionally, but good teammates know you have to hold each other accountable.
I suspect that Higgins, Hutchinson, and Stover weren't getting open yesterday. I believe that was a part of our problem.
I think / hope it happens later... in the moment, it may have got lost Like I said numerous times (post game), stay in the lab all off-season. Get your body right & get your mind right.
It seems that Houston will exercise its option to keep CJ through the 27' season. Texans Will Pick Up QB C.J. Stroud’s Fifth-Year Option; Team To Discuss Offseason Extension | Yardbarker https://share.google/B1aL1S9nNRp6BaqsD
So getting back to the 26' season, I hope and trust for the following: 1) New QB coach 2) Sports physchologist for CJ 3) Tank Dell returns at WR 4) Brevin Jordan returns at TE 5) Significant upgrades (draft) at OL 6) Add a quality RB 7) Draft/Sign a WR I'm going ALL-IN on infusing offensive talent in the first 4 rounds of the draft.
To repeat, CJ is BROKEN, really broken. It must be determined exactly what the cause or causes are. I would recommend a thorough neurological evaluation, including an EEG. I think he is experiencing residuals of the concussions. He is not right. His affect is "flatter" than ever. He has a blank stare. He may need a psychological evaluation as well. "CJ is our guy" is not going to cut it. CJ needs help; he needs a complete workup and a treatment/recovery plan. Only then can an informed decision be made about going forward. It may be that he is "done" as a pro QB and gets a medical retirement. BUT if the Texans (not the smartest team in the league) do nothing, they are going to lose a golden opportunity. Wait, they just lost one.
I still think they'll give CJ a last chance and his contract will be determined based on how he plays next year. So more than likely he'll be our QB next season as well.
I fully agree that Houston management needs to conduct an in-depth examination of CJ. I trust that they are going to do exactly that but I also anticipate that we will hear nothing about it because it be very private. I think the only way results are publicly released is if some significant medical issue is found.
Ryan’s advice to stroud was to put his phone away because it was going to be all negative. then when the reporter asked him What he hoped the team learned. sounded like he low-key was taking shots at stroud lol
