respectfully, those other QBs you mentioned are much better than CJ and have demonstrated that through sustained time periods, not just the playoffs. CJ has had two bad seasons where he can’t throw accurately to open wrs and makes bad decisions. He also just proved twice in a row, in the biggest games of his career, that he’s even worse in the clutch. You should definitely be able to evaluate your QB after 3 seasons, and CJ is just not the guy. I don’t even think he’s the best QB on the roster. Davis Mills may have won that game. We’ll never know. But we now know that we need to move on from CJ, lest we squander this great defensive window we have.

Feelings of Bernard Stroud >>>>> winning the game He will now be called Bernard. Not CJ, not Coleridge, simply Bernard.
Caleb Williams and Drake Maye have sustained success? News to me. Sam Darnold has been good the past two years and objectively awful every year prior. I would be hard-pressed to label Stroud's season "bad," and it was specifically because of his significantly improved decision-making that had people thinking he'd be good enough to let this defense carry them to a Super Bowl. He had 10 INT/FUM in the regular season. To have 10! in two games is just.... it's unfathomable. When we use small sample sizes, it can bite us. He was terrific in their previous two Wild Card games. And he was really good in a play-in game in '23. I can't explain this postseason with any degree of clarity - but to dismiss CJ as a choker is choosing to ignore any evidence to the contrary.
The last paragraph just simply isn’t true. CJ has had exactly one good playoff game, against the Browns.
You're the brain dead idiot playing one-dimensional checkers if you think she is posting this as a football fan. She is posting this as a politician to show "support" to her local football team and its owners because she looks to get "support" (read: money) from said owners. Would you not do the same?
Sign Rodgers for a year. 1 year, $10M (signed 1/13 with Steelers) Yeah, he’s 42, yeah he’s not the long term answer (but neither is Bernard), yeah he can’t run, yeah I don’t care if you disagree with his politics At least he knows when/how to take a sack. Has football smarts unlike dumbass Ohio State QBs. “But we just saw Rodgers! He sucks!” … Yeah, against the Texans defense. Spoiler “[So and so] is not better than Stroud.” Keep being delusional and blaming everyone else. All they needed was a “game manager” and didn’t even get that. “Don’t **** it up.” Bum ass Bernard. Daniel Jones Aaron Rodgers Malik Willis Marcus Mariota Philip Rivers Joe Flacco Russell Wilson Kenny Pickett Tyler Huntley Jimmy Garoppolo Gardner Minshew Tyrod Taylor Carson Wentz Mitchell Trubisky Zach Wilson Jake Browning Teddy Bridgewater Brandon Allen Trey Lance Josh Johnson Mike White Sam Howell Tommy DeVito Case Keenum Kyle Allen Jeff Driskel Brett Rypien Sam Ehlinger Skylar Thompson John Wolford Easton Stick Hendon Hooker Kyle McCord Shane Buechele Adrian Martinez Emory Jones Connor Bazelak
Isn’t she retiring because of mental health? Lol and I don’t even mean to throw shade because I actually met her before she got in politics and she was telling us she was getting into it.
He absolutely choked. Of that, there is no doubt. What we don’t know for sure is if he has a case of permanent yips. I personally don’t think he will ever overcome this performance, but I’m no better at predicting QB play than anybody else. What I am sure of is that there is no reason for the Texans to extend him for now and that they should start looking for CJ insurance.
In the era of QB career resurrection this whole "dumpster Stroud" question really is a b*stard of a dillema. It's hard to just put a lid on this playoffs and say "two games do not make a career", but god damn is it frustrating knowing that almost any other NFL QB walking god's green Earth would have probably put you in the Superbowl this year. Offensive line problems or not, the decisions CJ made this post-season with the ball are inexcusable. So bad as to beggar belief. I do not take issue with anyone who wants to wash their hands of him after this. That said, in a business sense, jumping ship on CJ is a tough sell. You'd be cashing out at an all-time-low and your alternatives do not inspire confidence. I do not envy the Texans having to trot out CJ next year on opening weekend with a straight face. Tough as it may be I can swallow the pill that is "run it back", but I can't sit and watch the Texans "do nothing" this offseason in terms of the QB situation. They have to be prepared for the possibility that CJ had his Brad Lidge moment and is just done. I do not want to ride bare-assed into 2026 with Davis Mills as my only alternative.
