OS Trig would think it was great to see Costa Rica nuked if he thought it might get him 3 angry responses from non-Trump supporters on the GARM, and a wall of Tinman posts.

The value to the lives of Trumpers for trolling, and liberal tears is pretty astounding. Pretty pathetic people if you can still call them that. Not a ton of humanity left in the world of Trump supporters.

War is bad and stuff (brave stance to take I know) but in a really ****ed up way I am super curious to know just how far Europe is willing to go to make sure the US doesn't take Greenland.

Youre unhinged and need mental help. Traumatizing a local population that has never done anything wrong to you but for your lolz you want to see how far it can be pushed. Americans are genuinely insane

They’re pretending to invade Minnesota while actually preparing to invade Greenland.

I've not served in the military, though I know several of you have. I've had a bunch of family member serve.

I just can't see obeying an order to invade greenland. Similarly, I could not attack a domestic group of protestors. I guess I would make a lousy soldier if I kept thinking for myself. But what is going through the heads of the poor kids who may (or hopefully may not) be prepping for a hostile takeover of Greenland?

You could not even read this for fun in a parody science fiction novel. It's just so stupid that it's not entertaining.
Sadly, with the bozos that now run our country, it is believable. It's just not in any way entertaining (to me).

We have TACO and Europe in the equation, so…

while it’s reasonable to think both sides will avoid war, the problem is things can spiral in ways leaders don’t fully control. The July Crisis of 1914 turned a local dispute into a world war. You can’t rule out anything here, except that NATO would almost certainly collapse if the U.S. tried to take Greenland militarily, and with this many countries involved, WTFK.

Depends on what you'd mean by "going far."

No I don't think that the Danish, and Europeans would be willing to allow their military to be wiped out by the US in a hot battle.

Yes I do think that Europe could still "go far" in response to Trump seizing Greenland. Seizing Greenland meaning (in my interpretation) Trump ordering the Navy to seize European vessels in the Greenland waters, and naval lanes, and have troops in the streets of Nuuk and the other few small cities that actually have inhabitance. In response to that action I do think that Europe would reform NATO without the US, and would punish the US severely by revoking the US treasury bonds by north of a trillion dollars.

That last part is where Europe can essentially punish the US, and has the power to retaliate. They also hold the cards where Greenland would not legally be recognized as part of the US anywhere in the world, and at any point post Trump could be reversed if the US had a change in leadership. Seizing Greenland would not be legal, or recognized so it's not worth it for Denmark to lose thousands of lives over because it'll still be their territory even if it's temporarily occupied by the US in a couple small cities.

So yeah... I think they'll go far, but I don't think they'll find any benefit in having an unnecessary hot war with the US. They will see this as a much more consequential version of the Gulf of America nonsense because it would mean that NATO would cease to exist and would put all the reliance on Germany moving forward to once again ramp up their efforts to be the leader in Europe in military arms manufacturing.

Yes, but I was a mercenary, and not formally with any one military, mainly infiltrating Prussian trenches, and poisoning their winter beet crops, that sort of thing. Those were the days.

That AND German military arms manufacturing explosion is a guarantee.

Important to note that Europe has been planning for this, and why they are for sure alarmed, they are not all that surprised. I've said before here about my knowledge of people higher up in the military industrial complex that have been working with European countries to stock up for years knowing Trump was likely coming back into power, and once he was elected that went into hyper drive.

It's also been reported widely about Germany essentially going on war footing with re-launching their manufacturing industry. Tell me again anyone who knows anything about history what has happened when Germany felt the need to be the main arms provider for Europe in the past??? How well did that work out for the world???

This is also why I think there will be a check on Trump and Vance here. Lockheed, Boeing, etc. all give HUGE amounts of money to Republicans. I do think if Greenland becomes a thing in the next few weeks, you will see those Republicans in congress suddenly grow a spine for once in their careers or (more likely) start to decide to retire early because they have the CEO of a major arms manufacturer suddenly down their throats.

Except for one time, Republicans always roll over. Maybe they’ll grow some courage this time, but I expect they’ll give Trump all the rope, and by the time they try to pull it back, it will already be gone.
