If you've never seen the movie "The Death of Stalin" you're doing yourself a disservice.

"I don't have to be peaceful anymore". Trump is a domestic and international abuser.

"Cut Europe off from Russia, whose close and inexpensive energy fueled its industry, send all Europe’s weapons to Ukraine to be destroyed and then eat Europe alive. Fanatical European leaders who went along stabbed their people in the back."

So much of what he does is fueled by malignant narcissism, greed, and his big fat ego. It's so gross. Even worse is when he defends his ignorance, abuse of power, and downright stupidity with lies, lies, and more lies. Political retribution, greed, hate, and a deep craving for unlimited power fill the mind of that psychopath, and he's not going to stop until he's impeached.

Attacking NATO allies is as illegal of an order as a military official can get. If he is ever to actually give an order to do something like seal team 6 board and seize a Danish ship off the coast of Greenland, I’ll be shocked if the officials overseeing the operation don’t refuse the order at least initially.

I do think Seal Team 6 would shoot and kill anyone they are ordered to, but there’s so many chains of commands in between a Trump tweet and a Seal Team 6 boarding that vessel. There is months of planning. There is Air Force support. There is the intelligence agency coordination. There is the navy brass moving vessels around in support, etc.

I’m not saying Trump is not going to order it, but I am going to be surprised and pretty disturbed if I hear that the military is obeying Trump.

I think Trump and Stephen Miller think they can just bully and threaten Europe and they’ll just fold. We’ll see if they do. I don’t think they will but they’ve cowered to Trump far too often already.

The main thing US citizens need to be concerns about right now is NATO and Europe’s control over our treasury bonds. Europe has the ability to throw the US in a major Great Depression overnight if they wanted to sell off those treasury bonds. The US is 23 trillion in debt to those bond holders. economically Europe and Asian countries have us by the balls.

Even threatening war with NATO is stupid even for dumb Trumpers. You people who put us in this situation because you were mad that someone with a penis once swam in a girls swim competition in California are the problem. Trump did not change America… he came into power because half of America is fcking stupid and celebrate ignorant and apathy.

I found my faculty unconscious bias training shrill and irritating to me personally - therefore I worked to destroy my country on a foundational level by installing a neoroyalist pedo cabal headed by a syphilitic **** stain

Thx for clarifying you’re from NZ. That’s helpful context.

But hold on. You still haven’t answered the basic question I asked.

If the U.S. withdraws from NATO, what replaces those specific capabilities? European bases provide radar coverage, missile defense positioning, Mediterranean naval access, and air superiority that Greenland and Venezuela simply cannot replicate. This isn’t about “different news sources.” It’s basic military geography. And just to be clear, Greenland itself isn’t a tool for countering China directly. Its value comes from being part of NATO’s broader defense network, including early warning and Arctic coverage, which indirectly supports U.S. global deterrence.

You can’t just wave that away by saying “European defense gives way to trade route control.” Those are forward deployed assets that directly contribute to U.S. homeland defense. Where do they go? How does the U.S. maintain that strategic depth without them?

Now to a point that matters even more than the first one.

NATO isn’t just about “containing Russia.” At its core, it’s a collective defense pact. If the U.S. were attacked by any major power, including China, NATO is the mechanism that turns that into a problem no adversary can face alone.

If NATO no longer exists, the U.S. stands alone. That doesn’t make the U.S. weak, but it removes a massive deterrent. Any adversary would know they are no longer risking a multi-front, alliance-wide response. That fundamentally changes the strategic calculus.

Standing alone doesn’t help in a world of long-range missiles, cyber warfare, space assets, and global logistics. Collective defense spreads risk, shortens response times, and multiplies capability. That deterrent effect applies regardless of who the attacker is.

So NATO isn’t a legacy structure aimed only at Russia. It’s insurance against large-scale conflict with anyone. Removing it doesn’t simplify U.S. security. It concentrates risk entirely on the U.S.

As for your NSS claim, even if we accept your reading, it doesn’t support abandoning alliances. The strategy explicitly emphasizes military deterrence, forward presence, and deep cooperation with allies in the Indo-Pacific. Shifting focus toward China strengthens the case for alliances and collective defense. It does not weaken it.

p.s. One more thing worth considering from your perspective. If the U.S. throws away its alliances and the international norms developed after two WW that cost roughly 80 million lives, norms that say nations cannot simply take territories they find strategically valuable, what stops China from applying that same logic to NZ? The principle you’re defending doesn’t just apply to Greenland and Denmark. It applies to small nations everywhere, including yours. The international order you’re dismissing as obsolete is the same one that protects NZ from exactly that kind of aggression.

This was picked up by American news, and it might be the trigger.

The Nobel Prize and the Laureate Are Inseparable - Nobel Peace Prize

A Nobel Peace Prize laureate receives two central symbols of the prize: a gold medal and a diploma. In addition, the prize money is awarded separately. Regardless of what may happen to the medal, the diploma, or the prize money, it is and remains the original laureate who is recorded in history as the recipient of the prize. Even if the medal or diploma later comes into someone else’s possession, this does not alter who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

A laureate cannot share the prize with others, nor transfer it once it has been announced. A Nobel Peace Prize can also never be revoked. The decision is final and applies for all time.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee does not see it as their role to engage in day-to-day commentary on Peace Prize laureates or the political processes that they are engaged in. The prize is awarded on the basis of the laureate' contributions by the time that the committee’s decision is taken.

The Committee does not comment on laureates’ subsequent statements, decisions, or actions. Any ongoing assessments or choices made by laureates must be understood as their own responsibility.

There are no restrictions in the statutes of the Nobel Foundation on what a laureate may do with the medal, the diploma, or the prize money. This means that a laureate is free to keep, give away, sell, or donate these items.
