I think we need a pg that can create for himself and others. While shooting a good clip from 3, that can play decent d and is very quick. I think the only person, I can think of that's on the trade block is Darius Garland, but he's too expensive. Moving Amen off the point guard spot will be a huge plus for Amen.

This is an insane trade. Hell, you might be able to just trade Sengun for the first pick. I haven’t seen Peterson play, but that is an incredible haul.

I wouldn’t mind getting Garland, but I wouldn’t move Amen to forward. They would be our starting backcourt. Only way to make it happen is to convince FVV to ok the trade, which will never happen. If you could convince FVV about the only possible trades are FVV, Adams plus draft picks or FVV, Tari, Reed. Cleveland cannot aggregate players in a trade.

I dont think I would trade Sengun straight up for the #1 or Peterson. Sabonis wouldn’t be a drastic downgrade from Sengun so I wouldn’t mind it if it got us the pick and better cap space in 2028. Figured the kings would turn down Reed + picks and think this trade works for everyone. Picks could be negotiated if 3 is overkill

That doesn’t make sense. You wouldn’t trade sengun for the first pick but in your proposal you also added Reed AND 3 firsts AND took on sabonis albatross contract. This trade would be very borderline (probably bad) if you took out all the picks the rockets are giving up. Reed plus alpi for sabonis and peterson still values peterson as like 6 firsts.

Uh, not no! But hell no! Sengun and Sabonis are equals, so there’s no gain. And we're giving away Eason.

Find a way to get Kingston Flemings .... He's the better point guard and athlete, Peterson just seems slow to me, I think he'll have more trouble adjusting to NBA speed and size. He does have good handles and shooting potential but not a quick twitch guy.

Flemings goes from 0-100 faster than a Porche Taycan Turbo S and can shoot too.

Sengun, Sabonis, Jokic, Vucevic, all the big euro centers are identical, makes no difference which one you have.

We need a no name fundamental sound point guard, that will make open 3 point shots and play defensive. Start this player then move Amen to the off guard. Let the “hot hand” finish the game —> Shepherd. Reed backs both guards up getting starters minutes.

Newton is a player like this. Sometimes a champion is better than an all star.

    Vit Krejci anyone?

6'8 shooter with PG skills. Very competitive, tough. Could be a good backup PG option.

    To 76rs:
    Eason, Tate

    From 76rs:
    Grimes

    Works according to trade machine.
We’ll give away a guy that while us fans really love, just doesn’t get along with our organisation + gets injured too often. We’ll get a guy we need (a guard that can also be a decent shooter). True, we may not be able to keep Grimes next season, but same thing is with Eason. So at least let’s strengthen the position that is weak so we can have higher probability to win now.

How is Grimes defense? I haven’t watched him play much. If DFS looks like he’s getting better before the deadline, I don’t have a problem with this trade.

He’s obviously not a better defender than Tari, but I don’t think he’s too bad. If Ime could make JG an OK defender than, I think Grimes can definitely become a reasonable defender. I agree that the DFS situation is critical before making such decisions - if he doesn’t get better, he should probably the one to be traded.

He could (if we're breaking our obsession with trying to "play big"). Maybe Adams' injury will force us into more normal rotations.
