We gotta go all offense. No reason not to.

We need to hit on starters for the OL.. I'm not knowledgeable about any of em to put together my own personal mock.. But I do expect a QB among the 1st 3 rds as well if they're serious about possibly moving on from CJ. Which I seriously doubt btw.. Texans FO ain't that cutthroat with their beloved players..

I hope folks watching today see what Nico’s absence did. I like the young WR corps, but this far they all played today like WR3s. Schultz went down and the whole thing collapsed.

Yes, we need help on the lines like most teams do each draft, but this team is devoid of top tier weapons.

Why this franchise insists on one good weapons at a time is maddening. We were screaming for help for Andre, then Hop, and now Nico. Look at most of the other top teams, especially the NFC remaining teams. Shaheed might be the Texans’ WR1 and he’s playing WR2/3 to Kupp. The Rams are even more stark when Nacua is your WR2.

Who on the Texans scares teams? We need that guy. And he needs more friends too.

Need a better OL, QB, TE, RB...other than that the offense is solid.

Who does Iowa State have coming out at receiver this year?

This year? Not even a TE worth thinking about

In fairness this offense does have weapons.

    Nico, Tank, Mixon, Schultz.

All of those guys are dangerous, and most teams don't have that many playmakers.

I wonder what they all have in common?

We need a Tank Dell replacement. Obviously that's not easy to find. This offense sorely missed him this year.

    He opens everything else up.

I screwed up my mock by trying to get cute and thinking I could get the prospect I wanted with the next pick. I like DT Lee Hunter but I wanted Center Connor Lew or Logan Jones (Rnd 4). I'm sure we are rolling with CJ next year and these mocks help me cope with the Texans' Offensive performance.

    28. Olaivavega Ioane OG Penn State
    38. Oscar Delp TE Georgia
    59. Lee Hunter DT Texas Tech (Wanted Center Connor Lew but tried to do too much)
    69. Jake Golday LB Cincinnati (RB Jadarian Price was my target after Lew was gone but that didn't work)
    106. Nicholas Singleton RB Penn State
    128. Jake Slaughter OC Florida
165.Trey Zuhn III OC Texas A&M (multi-role depth for the IOL)

I haven't really looked at any WR yet. Any that stand out for the Texans?

If you are looking for a mock draft simulator, try https://mockdrafthero.com/

Traded up to 1-17 (28 + 59) for RB Love
    Trade 2-38 + 3-69 for 1-30 for IOL Ioane
Complicated trade for 3-65 for LB Jack Golday(picked up some 2027 picks)

Picked up WR (Rivers) in 4th
Not knowing about Stover picked up two TEs in later rounds (Raridon & Roush)
Also grabbed OT (Pettus) + S/LB (Daniels) + DT (Brevard)

If you want a Tank Dell clone then Brenen Thompson from Miss St would be that guy. Other guys I would look at for a similar player day 2 of the draft are Antonio Williams from Clemson and Zachariah Branch from Georgia.

No more heavy legged tight ends. Stover and Schultz both look like they are carrying around 15 pound leg weights.
    Would love to get Stowers.

Need I reminded everyone around here that Schultz broke the single season TE receiving yards record this year.

Do with that what you will.

Maybe we take a shot at QB Drew Allar in the 3rd.

Respectfully disagree. Nico is the only guy I could see a DC saying they need to plan around. Schultz is mid and Mixon feels like his best days are behind him. I think we are far overrating our own weapons. Maybe Higgins or Noel will eventually break out, but they are still bets. We continually draft project TEs and none have panned out.

Look at a few of our division foes -

JAX = BTJ, Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers
IND = Pittman, Pierce, Downs, Warren

I like our guys too. I'm not completely hating on them, but I'm not sure where I'd slot our TEs or WR2 relative to bunches like that. This defense's window is open and it makes me nervous to be waiting, again, on weapons. I fear our group is more akin to Buffalo's, which is a lot of nice WR3s, but we also don't have Josh Allen back there (although you could've fooled many with both of them turning things over like Betty Crocker).
