CJ just wasted a generational defense

I doubt Cincy would do it, but Joe Burrow. Also, I’d make the call to Aaron Rodgers to see if he wants to run it back one more time.

Forget about the interceptions for a second. Let's just look at the overthrow to Stover when he was wide open. That could have led to a touchdown instead of settling for a field goal there. Horrible passes were sprinkled throughout. The pass behind Kirk down at the goal line that shoulda been picked. He could have easily had ten interceptions today.

If I never seen him in a Texans jersey again. I'd be happy.

Goff has shown he really isn't a team raiser and the Rams knew that after a few seasons. Rams also are a better organization than the Texans and still managed to get to a super bowl with Goff......I just don't trust this organization to make the right choices all the way around. Demeco brought a super bowl caliber defense but the offense under he and Caserio who can't build a competent offensive line to save his life have been an inconsistent headache.

CJ had a bad performance but I would say meco wasted it. He made the choice to ride him when everyone was saying make the QB change at the half.

Meco has to accept as much fault as CJ. That was his choice to stick with him.

Also his choice to give up and punt down 12 with 5 minutes to go.

Better to lose by 19 than give up.

You could argue it was more likely for us to score on defense than offense

The Texans destroyed CJ when they failed to get him a competent offensive line. We saw what CJ was capable of his rookie season. But then we had all the sacks, the concussions, the poor coaching. CJ is now a shell of his former self. We’ve seen this with other young QB’s.

It may be best for the Texans and CJ to part ways. I don’t think CJ has wasted this defense. I blame the Texans for not doing what was needed to support a young QB. Let’s see what happens in the offseason. I have no faith in our GM or offensive coordinator at this point.

Disingenuous to keep saying they only had 7 points off turnovers.
We had the ball at our own 36 and CJ threw a pick. We stopped them but then they punted it down to the 9. And stopped us then scored a TD with a short field.
Had he not thrown a pick. We likely out it down inside their 20 and then none of that sequence ever happens.
Then later we had the ball at midfield and get it intercepted and the stop them and they put it back down to the 10. All that stuff adds up. We could punted it down inside their 10 and who knows. Make a play and get a turnover or something.
4 Interceptions and 4 near interceptions were what cost us this game. Not woody marks fumble, because we got the ball right back and kicked the same field goal we woulda kicked anyways after that fumble.

How many points did we get off of those INTs?

But we still had a chance actually. Had CJ hit Hutchinson who was five years I the clear we at least have an onside opportunity at the end. But no. To the bitter end CJ sucked today.

The difference between a good qb and a bad qb often comes down to the decisions they make in adverse circumstances.

CJ has proven to us many times over he cannot make good decisions in bad situations.

I’ve seen many NFL QB’s make bad decisions when under pressure. It’s not just CJ. Did you see the Buffalo game yesterday? I’ve seen Mahomes do some crazy things when pressured.

I guess it’s time for the Mertz era to begin.

CJ just had the worst playoff game by a qb in 10 years.

Counting last week that might be the worst 2 game playoff stretch in league history.

Ive never seen a qb make that many bad decisions in 4 quarters of football. Especially in the playoffs.

The thing is it’s not even just the turnovers. His accuracy has regressed big-time. So many throws that are just not even in the wheelhouse of the receivers.

This thread is very underrated. The Texans defense may never be this great again. This year will never be forgotten.
