Maybe. Think it is typically just a media head excuse used and the team has been preparing all week for NE. This Nix injury is way to recent (12ish hours ago) to take them off their game if you believe they look ahead. Hell they were probably sleeping when the news broke.
Rams game, first Jags game, Seahawks game, and he tried his best to lose last week but the defense was too good. You know, 3 of our 5 losses for the entire season.
So if Mills played all games this season you dont think there would have been some games he would have "tried losing" for the Texans? He'd have played like he did for those 3 games?
He's not really a QB that loses you games, he's more of a QB that isn't good enough to win you games. It's different. When CJ is bad, he's actively detrimental to the team, makes it next to impossible for them to win. Mills is just mediocre all the time. Obviously a good CJ is WAY better than any version of Mills....but you never know when you are going to get a good CJ game.
The offensive line not being able to protect doesn't mean your QB played like ****. They may have been Meh games, but that doesn't mean CJ was just awful. The only game where his completion percentrage was low was the Seahawks game, and even that game, the Texans had their chances.
Of course, any time CJ is bad, those are going to be the excuses made because his superfans can't accept the fact that he's just bad a lot of the time. That's why I don't really take you guys seriously, I know it's just a blind spot that you can't control.
I wouldn't mind seeing some British Brooks occasionally. We need to spread out the running burden to not burn out our guys.
CJ needs to be the reason we win at times. CJ gotta step up and refuse to lose today. The team will support and play united as one. SWARM the F out these clowns today.
Stroud is wearing the face shield and Maye isn't. I hope Stroud takes it off. It's like wearing glasses when it's raining outside. Water droplets and possible fog are going to blur his vision.
What am I missing watching this pregame? ESPN talking about New England's elite pass rush. They were 26th in sacks. The Patriots schedule went up against these offenses this year in sack given up. Raiders 32nd NYJ x2 30th Chargers- 29th Titans- 27th Saints-26th Browns- 25th Giants- 23rd Ravens- 21st Bills x 2- 19th Dolphins x 2- 17th That is 13 of 18 games against the worst OL's in football When playing Average to Good OL's on a Sack basis. Bucaneers- 16th- 2 sacks Bengals- 14th- 1 Sack Panthers- 12th- 1 Sack Steelers 11th - 0 Sacks Falcons- 4th - 1 Sack Avg- 1 a game Texans with CJ Stroud averaged 1.64 sacks a game. Averaged out over 17 games to 6th best in the league from that stand point. Post Week 3- Averaged. 1.36 sacks a game good for BEST in the league if put over a full season. Again what am I missing? Sure he took 3 sacks against Pittsburgh. One on a sloppy Flea Ficker, and another trying to do to much off a fumbled snap. I don't think I have ever seen one game change a narrative about a much larger sample size before. Patriots pass rush may be a non factor today.
LFG Texans. clean error free game, defense brings pressure and we just need the offense to keep moving the chains.
How many games will the Texans have left after today? We are about to find out. Zero, one, or two are the choices. Go, Texans, give it everything you've got. CJ, bring your A game. Offensive line, bring your A game. Running backs and Receivers bring your A+ game. And defense, just bring it.
