Myles graded higher as a pass rusher and run defender, WAJ graded better as a coverage player (WAJ according to pff had 1 coverage snap, Myles had 0).

He’s not getting 40 per. Myles already had a DPOY before he signed that contract.

Garrett can have his DPOY, but Will getting that Super Bowl is what NFL players dream of.

Will is going to get that DPOY later. He's still young.

When the Texans got the 2nd pick my biggest fear was that Carolina would go get Will Anderson at #1. That was the guy DeMeco wanted all along, that was his dream piece he needed for his defense to kick off.

And then the Texans ownership wanted a QB and “bam” CJ Strout was the #2 guy. Which was solid pick, but in my opinion, too many question marks. On the other hand Will Anderson had zero red flags. Sure after Mario Williams and Clowney were pro bowl players, but they never became the identity of the defense. Which a guy like Will Anderson looked like he could be that guy!

Hence I left my house to run my errands, disappointed but hopeful Stroud would be the Franchise QB answer.

Next thing I turn on the radio and I heard a blurb about Houston trading up to get Anderson.

It was such a fun draft after that. Literally DeMeco got the guy whom he wanted all along. And ownership had their QB….

Ya i was against the trade, i would be against trading what the texans traded for any non qb in any draft ever. I most likely wouldn’t have even traded that much for Myles Garrett when he was a prospect and he’s the best draft prospect of my time as an nfl fan (25ish years). Worked out great though!!!!

Ha, I had no problem with Will Anderson my posts were more about Stroud and what we had to give up to get WAJ. I woulda been happy with WAJ at 2. I thought we would still be a bad team, but Stroud proved us all wrong his rookie year.

Fun Fact: If we had not made the WAJ trade and drafted him #2 instead of Stroud, the QB taken with our 2nd round pick (#33) was...

in my head canon, Nick and Demeco use it to move up for Jalen Carter.
