Food cost reduction hacks from me, a Chef

The biggest way to save money if you have the space and means is to purchase in bulk. For instance, at my local market we pay a staggering 29.00 per pound for filet mignon. I go to Restaurant Depot. do not know of you have those in TX. I suspect you do. I pay 19.99 per lb. for pismo IBP tenderloin. Trim the chain and use for beef tips, peel the blue skin and on average you can get 14 cuts, and you can throw the "tail" in with the chain trimmings.
Double Ziplock removing as much air as you can and you are set.

But lesser cuts of meats and slow cook. You can take a London Broil or an eye round traditionally tough meat and crock pot into stews. For grillers. If you marinade top sirloin for a day its fine grilled if sliced thin. Chuck roast is also fantastic for a long cook pot roast

Never buy tray packs of pork chops. Buy a loin and cut it down. repeat the storage process from tenderloin

Shrimp, never buy precooked, they are gross and almost twice the price. Buy raw de veined. You can use for anything. Always look for specials on shrimp. They are worldwide so different shrimp from different locals will always be on sale. You might have to get 16-20s instead of 13-15 or whatever you preference is. Buy sides of fish if you feel comfortable removing the skin. they are generally de boned, and I know some like the skin on so you would just cut to the portion size you like and freeze.

Switch from ground beef to ground turkey or chicken and buy in bulk. Ground beef is running around 7.50 up here in NY. While ground turkey is running 4.75.
Buy in bulk. Separate bags of ground for bolognaise and goulash and such. Use the other part to make like 60 meatballs and put in as much as you need per meal and freeze. Chefs hack use a sharpie to indicate how many balls per pack. I make packs for singe person, me and my wife, and large packs for when we entertain. You need to add more milk and egg to the meatballs since they are so lean. breadcrumbs will soak up the extra.

Buy whole roasting chickens. If you have an air fryer large enough to accommodate it can be cooked in as few as 45 minutes for a whole thawed bird. Why whole chicken? they retain moisture because the skin aids in the process. whatever you have leftover make chicken vegetable soup with. I throw the whole carcass in the pot the meat will fall right off. Portion and freeze, make stronger with Better Than Boullion paste/stock, this way you can add more liquid when re heating in order to throw egg noodles in there or your soup pasta of choice. They drink your broth.

Don't ever buy cleaning products or paper goods unless they are on sale. Although TP is an item, I am brand loyal on.
    Cheap TP is the worst.

In the end, do not buy for what you want, buy for what you need, and buy on sale.
This is also important. Do not bring your children if possible. that's when impulse buying starts. It hard to say no to those little ones.
Don't go shopping high on weed. Or you will end up with like 10 packs of double stuffed Oreos and nutter butters, just sayin from experience.

This does not solve any issues as far as groceries being quite expensive. It just hopefully helps you stretch your dollars given what we are all dealing with.

This probably does not belong in the D&D because I have not stated whether this is a conservative of progressive meal plan.

Gold is trading around $4600/oz and silver is trading at almost $90/oz.

A year ago gold was $2600 and silver was $30/oz.

Two years ago we are looking at $2000 and $24.

Trumpinomics has ****ing killed the dollar.

worthless MAGA could’ve at least suggested rice, canned beans, and a single piece of chicken to the broke plebs

chicken breast, broccoli, and a tortilla don’t even go together

What kind of juvenile detention center meal is that?

chicken and broccoli casserole with a crispy tortilla topper??
You would need other ingredients though.
Rice has always been the cheapest of grains and goes with almost everything.

I stated last year I had switched as many of my holdings as I felt comfortable to gold.

Parker Schnabel, Tony Beets, and I are killing it.

Imported rice has almost doubled in price since the tariffs went into effect.

Remember when liberals demanded that Trump take action to reverse Biden’s egg hyperinflation? Done. Another promise kept.

I personally would never eat a dozen eggs being sold for 37 cents but go off king.

for the record I was at the grocery store yesterday in the organic eggs were 7.50 and the regular were closer to four dollars a dozen. Prices are still not back to 2023 levels

This is how the top 1% think that poor people eat ... when they are not eating dirt or out of trash bins.

One of the best cheap-ish investments you can make is a vacuum sealer. If you have the space and the means, get an extra freezer in your garage or wherever.

And yes...cheap TP is the worst. There are a few things I don't scrimp or bargain shop for, and that's about at the top of the list.
