    Interesting.

Maye is the "golden child" while CJ needs to be benched for Mills

Because Maye has been good all season?
Because he also offers athleticism/rushing that CJ cant do?
    Because his QBR was better?

Or, do you wanna go with something else?

CJ had 5 fumbles, 3 TOs and Maye had 2 fumbles, 2 TOs.

One of CJ's fumbles was Andrews' fault.

Also that was Maye’s first playoff game. This was CJ’s 5th playoff game.

Pat McAfee and that crew has been the only talking heads I've heard consistently gushing over the Texans defense and that has been going on since October. Since then it has been "the Texans defense will bring the boo birds to your stadium" or "every offense is good until they play the Houston Texans". They did a segment showing how historically, the Texans as a franchise have had some pretty great defenses (JJ was on for this one) and clearly this is the best one.

Keep the political race baiting trash on the d&d forum. It has no place here.

Maye has been a better quarterback than Stroud all season. Hopefully, it’s different this Sunday.

    His QBR was better.
    Maye 68.8 against the Chargers
    Stroud 62.4 against the Steelers

Maye is just a different caliber player when it comes to athleticism, off script ability and rushing ability.

Tomstro, I hate that there isn't nuance via text but it is what it is. Maybe there's some projection going on because when I read the quoted comment I didn't immediately go to "white person vs black person" I immediately went to one has had a better season and maybe is getting a pass for the "bad" game versus one has "struggled all season" and their stat lines were virtually the same.
    Just my version of things.

This week, I face the ghosts of my family tree. Early family locations named Swansea, Taunton and Rehoboth pepper the early 17th century family tree. All are within 30 miles of Foxborough.

The shock that I had roots there made me ill as someone with newer roots to the days of The Republic of Texas. Almost as much as finding out one was a BFF of Abraham Lincoln when he was in New Salem, Illinois.

But this Sunday I will be ALL TEXANS. Let my Texan destroy my Yankee on the gridiron.

    GO TEXANS!

Broncos game is going to be a fun watch while we wait. They face the #2 qb who puts the ball in danger. Potential for another 7-7 at the half game.
Denver has everyone healthy. Just hit each other hard and late, both sides, flags be damned.

Need Bills to win though just in case.

How does someone clear concussion protocol that fast?! Seems unfair. Feels like Nico is gonna be out for 2 weeks while Gonzales will be playing smh…

Also, I don’t know why, but I still have a lot of faith in CJ to flip a switch and be more than a game manager. I don’t know what happened the last 2 years but I feel like he has the potential to be the best QB we’ve ever had. I def did not feel this way about Schaub. I loved Watson for his elusive ability out of the pocket but his arm was questionable. I didn’t think he had the IT factor. I feel like CJ does.
Sucks that Maye seems to be better than him and did not fall victim to the sophomore slump like CJ did

CJ had possibly his worst games with 5 fumbles which is uncharacteristic of him when he’s had only 2 on the year. That said CJ was still able to get 17 Pts offensively aside from the defense. The Chargers defense held Maye to 16 Pts which should have been enough for a win. But Hubert put up just 6 Pts and has been awful historically in the playoffs, see his 4 interceptions last year in wildcard.

The Texans will be a true test for Maye. He’s played the easiest schedule historically within the past 11 years. We’ve seen the same production from CJ as a rookie with an even tougher schedule. Until Maye wins against Houston, Denver and the Seahawks well know if Maye truly has it. So far CJ has only lost to the Ravens and Chiefs in the playoffs which were both SB caliber teams. Both Maye and CJ are young, less than a year apart in age, so it will be interesting to see how they’ll develop but having one good season isn’t enough to define who they’ll be.

Nico is soft and injury prone.

Maye was also equal/better than CJ last season as a rookie with zero help.
The metrics that some use to say CJ is playing at a top 10 level QB have Maye as the best QB in the league, which factor in strength of schedule.
I do agree that Maye isn’t tested and the burden is on him to show he can do it against elite defenses.
CJ has had two very average seasons after a phenomenal rookie year.
Maye had a solid rookie year and an MVP level second season.
It’s projecting on trends, and the fact that Maye is just on a different level than CJ athletically.
He’s the prototype for new age QBs.
CJ has a great arm, but he is more of a traditional style QB.

CJs rookie year wasnt just phenomenal, he was a legit MVP candidate. He did it all his rookie year. Sure he followed it up with two average to slightly above average years by his standards but he performed well in the playoffs.

I agree his rookie season was awesome, but no, he wasn’t a legitimate MVP candidate. He was 8th in voting.
Maye will either win or be 2nd.

We will see about playoffs. CJ was a huge factor in one of the 3 wins, the defense won 2 of the 3 wins the last 3 postseasons. Looking for a game like he had against Cleveland
