My wife and I went to Izakaya Wa on West Gray for dinner tonight and seated at the table next to us was a handsome young man with a pretty female companion. I didn’t recognize him immediately from a quick side view glance, but I saw huge biceps and immediately thought, holy crap that’s Jeremy Pena. Sure enough, it was him and his fiance out for a nice casual Japanese meal like normal people. Over time, several people passed by and asked him to take a photo with them and he nicely obliged. He was extra nice to kids. He is a regular there (signed ball displayed and head waittress chatted with them extensively). We finished up before they did, so on our way out, we got a photo with him. I congratulated them on their engagement and I wished him a healthy season. He was cool and said man I really appreciate that. Not surprising at all, but Pena carried himself extremely well. Super normal, regular dude. Very likable and friendly.
if you’re talking about whether and how attractive his fiance is, public photos don’t do her justice. She is quite pretty.
Looks matter. It’s important to be attracted to your significant other. But it’s also not everything.
Rockies gave up their #20 prospect for OF Jake McCarthy, I feel like that means Meyers should have some pretty good value. Of course that Rockies trade could pave the way for them to trade Doyle to a team that would otherwise be interested n Meyers, thus reducing his value.
https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2026/01/orioles-notes-henderson-valdez-astros.html Astros tried to trade Framber (an 3 others) to Baltimore for a rental of Zach Britton.
I think it very likely no 2022 ring if that trade happens. Of course Luhnow also tried to trade Altuve to the Royals for Eric Hosmer. Lotta luck involved in being remembered as a good GM.
Yup. And if Britton costs them a game somewhere, possibly not a WS in 2017 given how close that whole postseason was. And one of the players in the trade was ultimately used to get Cole, so who knows what changes there.
Interesting....I always thought the owner denied the trade because he felt they could have gotten more when Britton was fully healthy and not coming back from being injured. Didn’t know it was due to him being concerned about the health of 1 of the prospects that the Astros were sending. Also, don't think Britton was a rental. Orioles traded him the following year to the Yankees. Or did he sign a new contract and then he was traded? I wonder if the Yankees package ended up being better.
One thing I didn’t realize until today is that Cesar Salazar is out of minor league options, so that might make the Astros more likely to install him as the backup and just sign another veteran on a minor league deal to pair with Carlos Perez in AAA. Luke Maile or Jacob Stallings would be good if they’d go for it.
Cubs loves former Astros. Guess they would rather have Breggy than Tuck after his seeing first hand his lack of competitive fire in the playoffs.
Just realized Red Sox chased off their franchise player in Devers for one year of Bregman (actually more like 4 months since he got hurt).
Pena isn't some ball player. He's a hunk with his pick of the women. Look at the quality woman Correa locked down, a man with many options. Pena appears to have been swindled by an instagram floozy who is quite tomboyish. Feel bad for the heartbroken latina women.
