Well they're both near unblockable in the video game because of the size, so how do you defend it if Jabari screens for KD? Either KD's gets a 3, a middie or a free layup/dunk or Jabari (now he can attack the rim) pops or rolls. Which 2 defenders have both the length and the agility to guard it? It's crazy we don't actually try **** like this more in real life.

I think KD would dribble well enough off a screen, the problem is that we can't stretch the floor enough away from KD and Jabari so that someone wouldn't just come behind him and pick his pocket. It's a shame, it could be so broken having near 7 ft (KD definitely is taller than the rest) guys just jumping back and forth raining jump shots. Instead, we get the ugly offense. Why can we never have a pretty offense and all of the rivals seem to? It's really annoying.

No we definitely do not need that **** either lmao. I do feel like we could run some pick and pop with both guys as the screen if they weren't both fairly Charmin soft.

Roster is broken, everyone is flawed, we need a player like Avidja, a guy who relentlessly attacks and can finish.

De-emphasize KD and trade anyone to retool.

At this point he is slowing the development of players that might be champions one day - he needs to take a back seat......and we will get better because of it.

If he is just ONE of the options instead of THE option it would be better for the Rockets overall.

I read the title and decided not to read a single sentence
OP is either a Jalen Green fan or a James Harden fan, I believe Suns and Clippers own their asses

The problem is that without Sengun we've got nobody else to be the #1 option. Reed has definitely shown he might be able to become that guy on offense one day, but not yet, and Amen's been disappointing at worst, pedestrian at best.

People blamed JG now they blame KD.

We see the Rockets with the same issues as last year especially when it was glaring in the playoffs. We struggle to score especially when they zone us up.

We simply don’t have a player that can both drive consistently and shoot the 3. If Amen can shoot 34% from 3 its over for teams but he can’t. So teams sit back in zone. Same with Sengun. The offense is so compressed since our starters can’t shoot. KD helps the offense move a little with mid range jump shots. But we still have issues due to Amen and no stretch big.

To make it worse Sheppard has shot 32% in 3 last 10 games. Okogie 22%.

I didn't want to elaborate how pathetic this thread actually is. What's the point...

Yes, that is part of it for sure, but the 4th quarter collapses were happening with Sengun too...

And I am NOT blaming KD, I am BLAMING IME for not using him correctly.

I definitely agree that he's not being used correctly, i"m just not sure we have many other options when we've got injuries

Hard to imagine any intelligent basketball observer would watch the Rockets play and would be like "we need a more complicated offense"....

If Amen had taken the type of offensive leap Sengun did, then we'd probably be doing better offensively.

    What is correctly?

He's a 37 scorer with a lot of minutes on his body. The whole point of him not initiating everything is to keep down the wear and tear. The Rockets are trying varying methods of getting KD the ball and have various options to go through when the opposing team doubles or presses to get the ball out of KD hands.... The issue is we keep not executing (and some of it is KD's lackadaisical passing) or just missing shots.

There are plenty of options, I contend the poor shooting is more related to guys standing around and not being involved continuously - they get tossed a grenade and have to heave.

Instead of moving off the ball, setting screens, rolling, and handling it to get in a rhythm

Players move around based on the reaction and the type of play.... If you actually watch the games.... When KD passes out of double team it causes the Rockets to react. KD obviously needs to know where to pass the ball to.... and then that player needs to know where to pass the ball to if needed. By the time KD has passed out of the double team, the appropriate players will adjust the position.

Just hand waving "beautiful motion basketball is how we solve everything" is just lazy and ignorant.

I think he's a big part of the answer, we just don't have the other pieces in place right now.
