As a corollary, just because Trump believes that China pays for the tariffs does not mean that China pays for the tariffs.

I'm not understanding you 1st sentence. Bottom line is Trump said gas would be cheaper when he was POTUS and it is. The tariffs haven't had much of any effect on the economy. In fact the economy is better under Trump than it was under Biden. Tariffs make everybody have skin in the game when it comes to paying off the reckless spending of the people in congress that the people voted for.

My job is in the manufacturing sector. We have 8/9 months of job declines. OIOW the manufacturing sector is losing jobs since Trump announced his tariffs in the spring of 2025. This is the exact opposite of Trump's state goals for US manufacturing. Since Trump took office, the employment numbers have gone up, i.e. more people are unemployed as a percentage. GDP growth has not been robust in 2025. If you look outside the AI bubble, the economy is struggling. FWIW you are wrong about the tariffs effects on the economy. Trump's on-off-on tariffs have injected a great deal of uncertainty into the economy. Companies want stability in order to make long term plans. The US stock market is up in 2025, but is also lagging the EU markets.

The economy is in a recession, job creation is nonexistent, and those investments are bullshit announcements to make Trump look good while amounting to nothing or we’re already in place under Biden. Let’s see what is given for not releasing economic data (jobs) this month. They are not giving healthcare money to people. It is like the GOP healthcare plan that was supposed to be released 15 years ago.
There is another 3 years left--- at least. I expect later this year there will be election fraud claims and Trump will need to have oversight over the elections to ensure it is fair.
