It really is repulsive what the US has done to Latin America. Maybe they would have ended up with an evil dictator regardless, but we never even gave these countries a chance. We sure as hell didn't make an effort to actually improve things when we easily could have. If you give us oil peacefully and don't go communist you can do whatever in the hell you want. We'll even topple the current regime for you, destabilization is perfectly fine as long as we have what we want.
@K9Texan @Salvy @CrixusTheUndefeatedGaul lol, All the d&d drug users are going to be mad when their drug dealer raises the price dope prices like 5000%
It sounds like Maduro will be put on trial. That's an incredible operation to capture him alive. I'm guessing that some folks close to him helped out in order to collect that $50 million bounty. https://www.foxnews.com/live-news/us-strikes-venezuela-maduro-captured-january-3-2026
The USSR's meddling had a lot to do with it, but us propping up right-wing dictators, turning it into a our death-squads vs your death-squads was horrible. And the regular people were just caught in the middle, in every country south of the border except maybe Costa Rica.
Maduro's circle gave him up. They all want to join the US hegemony like the rest of South America. We set off some bombs for the TV cameras and to make some contractors happy I'm sure, but this has all the trappings of a silent/internal coup.
