people are acting like Ime is a garbage coach, and it’s astonishing to me

He is pretty underrated, I mean you could say that about 90% of all the other Player's coaches that let players play their style.

He is no Popovich for sure. And Udoka is a disciplinarian who has a knack of knowing how to get the most out of his undermanned team..but has a tendency to get outcoached by the likes of Daigneault, etc.

I like that Mitch Johnson is up and coming.

Well, respectfully, i disagree... I think MDA is grossly overrated.... if u put all your eggs into the scoring basket and ignore defense and rebounding and player development... and u have the #1 offense - i think thats a hollow victory imo....

How often were MDA seasons derailed by an injury - and he had no alternative plan... CP pulls a hammy - put a fork in us, we're done...

The most common complaint i hear about Ime is his slowness to adjust in games... heck, MDA said straight-up said "We dont adjust to them - they adjust to us!" and he'll sit there while 27 3's clank off the iron and not change the play....

naw man... MDA always looked like fool's gold to me... a one trick pony of sorts...

...and its prob why i have so much respect for the way Ime prioritizes defense and rebounding...

and MDA never got another HC job...

You do know that you read peoples posts in your own mind....that you attach the tenor and how you BELIEVE it to be written, what you call arrogance, is probably just someone giving their opinions.

No one's opinion here is more important, in fact, none of what anyone says here is even remotely important.

As for Ime - I liked Rick Adelman a lot more than him - he was a more balanced coach on both sides...Ime was a role player who made his name by playing HARD, he is a very good motivator a straight shooter with players who respect him and that is a good chunk of the job, but, he gets outcoached a lot and is slow to make adjustments - I will give him that he has only been a head coach for 3 seasons and he has room to grow, but some guys come out OOZING with knowledge like Rudy T, or Spoelstra, or if you want a newer guy, Hardy, or even the Spurs new head coach Mitch Johnson, all of whom look to be better basketball minds than Ime....

He may win a ring, but if not, I suspect his shortcomings in the X's and O's will eventually cost him his job.

    You are right.

he is much better than pops.

it takes a lot more than siding with the NBA agenda from the commissioners office and living off The admiral, the big fundamental, and if not for health reasons wantmymomma (given to him by the commissioners office).

This is every fan base though. If you go to the Warriors reddit fan page they are constantly barraging Steve Kerr with hate comments even though the man led them to 4 championships.

Every fan page is going to have those irrational knee-jerk fans who need something to "hate" at all times. Then when you ask these people to give us good alternatives they have no answer whatsoever.

the Warriors fanbase has a significant bandwagon/Steph Curry only-fan portion, and they have been pretty mediocre for a while outside of the 2nd half of last season post-Jimmy trade, so I can see that being the case over there

but what’s going on here is like if I went over to whatever the Spurs fan page is and all I saw was that their HC is garbage and needs to be fired ASAP

the Rockets with no real PG and having played 19 road games to only 12 home games are the 3rd seed in the West and have the 2nd best point differential in the NBA by a significant margin…the team is ranked 2nd on offense and 8th on defense, so top 10 in both categories

we’re 10-5 vs teams above .500 which is the 2nd best record in the league atm behind OKC

the team has issues and flaws, but the anti-Ime agenda seems so extreme right now

We’re not even gonna wait to see how this year’s playoffs go?

and it’s interesting to me how some coaches get elevated despite having no results

they’ve been calling Will Hardy a good coach from day 1 even tho his record is atrocious and the Jazz literally have the worst defense in the entire NBA this year

Will Hardy is a “good HC” based on what exactly?

Will not argue having an O coach with freedom could be positive. Will not argue that he’s above average, how much so would probably put us at odds. His (apparent) relationship and communication with his players is a great asset.

The problem is, people associate “good” coaches with teams that play flashy, movement oriented offense. I’ve heard that same thing about Hardy, and they always say “I love watching that team play offense”.

Ime gets so much crap on here because people see our offense as clunky, and they blame him. The truth is that our offense is slow and clunky at times because our two best players are essentially post up/iso players.

so basically, because people hate “slow” offense, whenever the Rockets lose, they think it is because of the offense and they blame Ime for that. I think people think that if you brought Steve Kerr in, we would be running 2016 warriors offense or something.

Yeah - team construction has a LOT more to do with it than people are giving credit to. Not only do we have two post up/iso scorers - Sengun has inconsistent range past 15 feet, Amen can't shoot, Jabari can't dribble, Reed is getting the first meaningful minutes in his career while playing undersized AND learning the hardest position to play, and we often have extremely limited offensive guys in Adams or Capela out there for stretches. To some extent, Ime only has so many levers he can pull given:
    - can't give Jabari the ball on the move because his handle is so shaky
    - Amen, Adams, and Capela are only effective at the hoop
    - guys like Okogie and Eason are inconsistent and can be poor decision makers if forced to make a play

Basically none of these guys came to our team with the rep as great offensive players aside from Sengun, Durant, and 'Little Mac' Reed...so of course the offense looks clunky at times....the defense is what is going to get us somewhere because everyone else on the roster outside of those 3(Durant still has some skills here, but is more selective at when he chooses to play hard defensively) can wreak havoc defensively and create transition opportunities.
