I'm not sure there'd be another coach in the entire NBA, who inbounding the ball in the opponents half with less than 6 seconds on the clock - chooses to pass it in traffic to their C instead of passing to one of the greatest scorers in NBA history. If you don't run a play for Sengun in that scenario it's a bad shot or turnover. If you don't run a play for KD in that scenario it's a contested shot which you think might go in regardless of the defense. Would make a little sense if the team then had movement and ran plays in those few seconds once Sengun touched the ball, but they never do.
I've been shocked since game one about how much they play KD. Then again, nothing really surprises me with Ime the longer this season goes on.
Ime is not the king of off ball movement and it shows up in those situations. Our two best players are not very mobile, Jabari hardly can move and we sometimes use Adams on the floor which is totally dumb imo. The two players that move well are Amen and Reed. Amen cannot create much after getting the ball. Yes, we have a long way to go there.
Nets in the collecting data phase (not unlike us during the rebuild years). Trying to see what the strengths of their new guys are. Not simply going through Cam Thomas.
