    The third string having 9 turnovers in a quarter is not exactly unheard of.

    If you’re looking for a conspiracy, you’re likely to find circumstantial evidence that fits your narrative.

    However, in 35 years of watching basketball, I have found it very commonplace for teams with big leads to let their foot off the gas pedal in the fourth quarter and allow opponents to close the gap. Bad shooting and turnovers in garbage time are unfortunately very common, due to lack of focus and urgency.
