The show wasted so much time in these first seven episodes that they won't have time to wrap it up nicely. The Mind Flayer will play a role or not at all. If it does, it will be rushed; if it doesn't, it will be dumb considering the history. That's probably the most important. The military's role needs to be hashed out. There's 8's role, too. It will not go well if she is a scammer double-agent working for either Vecna or the military, or if she harbors resentment toward Eleven. There's the cave thing. They have to explain Vecna's fear. Some things that we know will happen will also be really lame. Vecna's action will be justified (?) when his backstory is revealed in the show. We can't let someone be evil just because they're evil anymore. We gotta have sympathy for the devil. Vecna has been powered down and must remain powered down to be defeated. Someone important has to die, but probably won't because of the possibilities of future shows, who knows. The show has really become a mess. It's like when you're writing something on a set space and realize you're running out of space, and you have to smush all the letters together at the end.
Also, are we thinking Holly is dead now? Was that last scene Vecna snapping all their necks? Or just the sound effect added in?
My first thought was they are got in a trance within the Trance..... I am waiting for Peacemaker and Eagly to swoop in and save the day.
Movie of the Stranger Things kids cast announced. Spoiler: Lucas Sinclair Spoiler: Will Byers Spoiler: Dustin Henderson Spoiler: Mike Wheeler Spoiler: Eleven
Lol, finally got around to it... The last minutes of ep 7 were dedicated to Will's gayness???? Like, did he have to tell everyone before facing Vecna because Vecna is a colossal homophobe and was going to troll him...
I bet it’s a lot of pressure to figure out how to defeat/kill Vecna. What are some good examples in books or television of longtime villains finally being defeated (in a satisfying way)? Lord of the Rings is an obvious one, I guess.
Good question. I can think of things they should not do. They shouldn't turn Vecna good or weak. They shouldn't reintroduce the Mind Flayer. They shouldn't have every main character survive. They really shouldn't win. If the Mind Flayer is reintroduced as Vecna's pupper master, then Vecna will have to turn on his master for them to stand a chance. For that to happen, they'll have to turn him good. After all the killing and Vecna Island mess, who's going to buy that? I can't think of a satisfying way to end this thing in around 95 minutes. There are too many storylines and too many characters in the main plotline. And Vecna needs to be powered down to beat him or flipped to beat the Mind Flayer, who is the god of that world.
I predict that Eleven will sacrifice herself and somehow kill or seal Vecna into the alternate dimension while also destroying the upside down.
Just finished E5-E7. Unless the finale is out of this world, my memory of S5 will be they should have ended it at S4. I don't know why I feel this way and others don't, but a lot of the dialogue in S5 seems forced and contrived and the poor acting of some of the "kids" is distracting.
I blame the writing. They obviously didn’t have a season’s worth of story so instead of adding more action/adventure to episodes 5-7, they did a bunch of weak person on person acting, which this show has never been about. And nobody cares about most of the romantic relationships. They were never really explored so they’re all mostly flat. The Max-Lucas reunion scene was well done, though.
